Great rod for price:) I have already used it in Saltwater and freshwater... Worked GREAT in saltwater caught 2 18" Red Drum and a 15" Speckled Trout... In Freshwater used it for Plastic Worms... Caught a beautiful 4 lb Largemouth Bass... This Rod Performed perfectly!!!! :) October 17, 2012

Good for the Price Bought this on a whim on the way to vacation in Montauck with a couple of small combos for the kids. Cought 20+ little blues with the kids and casted them for Strippers at night; no joy. However, it was a lot of fun with the bonfire and the gear worked as expected, looking forward to a couple of "fishing" nights this fall. October 16, 2012
