Rated 1 out of 5áby not rated correctly To be comfortable in 50 degree weather I had to wear hiking socks + base layer pants + base layer top + lambswool base layer + medium thickness hoodie + beanie so i don't agree with the 40 degree rating at all. I was barely comfortable even with all these clothes on. I would not use this bag below 55 degrees. September 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great Bag - don't believe the negative reviews... For all of you who are reading other reviews and keep seeing people complaining about warmth and size FEAR NOT, those individuals obviously had no idea what they were buying. ON WARMTH - this bag is rated for 40* and I would say it could go lower. For a synthetic bag to work, you should sleep in minimal clothing and let your natural body heat work with the bag. I slept comfortably in 35* weather on Gold Peak in NM in only boxers and socks because I allowed the bag to do what it was designed to. Layering clothing and jackets makes the bag pointless. ON SIZING - this is a "minimalist" bag, not a car camping bag. It is designed with size and weight in mind for individuals who trek for days at a time, not those who drive to a campsite and go home in the morning. That being said, I am a male (5'11" - 170lbs) and this bag is a snug fit. Most would probably consider this a woman's bag so if you are a male any taller or larger than I, l would suggest choosing another bag. August 19, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby Decent bag for price! I needed something small for 8 nights in the Boundary Waters region of Canada. It didn't get below 50 the entire trip, and the bag was plenty warm. It is compact, lightweight and comes with it's own stuff sack. You would probably want something warmer if you are going to be out in sub 40 degree temps. Good 3 season bag. August 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great for Boy Scout Camping This was great for a recent backpacking trip to Tahoe. It is compact and light weight. It was warm and cozy even though it looks thin it feels great. I'm very pleased. June 28, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Love these bags! My husband and I love these bags! So warm and love that it hardly takes up any space in the car. June 18, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5áby Meh....cold & shorter than advertised Absolutely not rated for what it said it was. It was a last minute purchase for a 30 mile hike on the AT. Both nights got into the mid/low 30's. One night was just at/below freezing, the other was in the mid/high 30's. I had on 3 shirts, 3 pairs of underwear, 2 pairs of shorts, pants, flannel, gloves, beanie and 3 pairs of socks and still was freezing. Might as well have not used it. I suspect in 50+ weather it'd be fine. Also, I'm 6'6" and did not fit in it as advertised. The top half of my head poked out badly. It would make a perfectly fine summer bag. Other than that, the material seems fine, it was light and packed up small in my pack. April 26, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby I, for one, think it's great. I read a lot of reviews before picking this bag up. I mainly chose it because of the moderate temperature rating, the low weight, and the price. I've had this bag for close to three years now, and I've loved using it. I bought the larger size because of the reviews that said it ran small, and it fits comfortably (I am not a huge guy anyway, 5'10" 180 lbs). As far as the controversial temperature rating, I have used this bag on 65 degree summer nights and much colder spring and fall nights with no problems. I once slept in it in <20 degrees wearing thermals and wool socks, and everything stayed warm but my nose. As far as durability, here is almost three years, several multi-day and overnight backpacking trips, and countless other camping/indoor uses with no rips, tears, or picks. Maybe I've gotten lucky, or maybe I'm just the right size and have a little better tolerance for temperature. In any case, I think this is a great piece of gear from a quality company. Rated 3 out of 5áby Not impressed We had two sub freezing nights in the grand canyon but on the other nights, it was in the forties and the bag was still cold. It is also very difficult to move and adjust in. Will give it to one of my kids or my grandkids, since I have used it for a week. Will not buy anything like it again. November 18, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5áby Tight Fit, Poorly Made, Awful Zipper, Not Warm A full grown man cannot comfortably use this bag. Way undersized. Zipper gets stuff in flap. Stitching tore out at flap. This bag is rated to 40 degrees but that is wishful thinking. I saw the price and the Marmot name and bought it. This has me wondering if I will ever buy another Marmot product again. Rated 2 out of 5áby Tight fit, shoddy workmanship I bought this because I needed something between my winter and summer weight bags. I liked the left side zipper because it lines up with the left side zipper on my camping hammock, making getting in the bag easier. The price was right and I always thought of Marmot as a maker of quality gear. Unfortunately the bag was poorly stitched with several places along the zipper seam where the stitching was missing. But the worst issue is the size. I'm fairly big, at 240 lbs and saw the reviews warning that it ran a little tight. In light of this I opted for the extra wide model. I have no issue fitting inside any of my mummy style bags, but the extra wide was still so tight that I couldn't zipper it past my shoulders. If you are a stick, the regular bag should be fine and the extra wide should suit someone with a few extra pounds, but this is a very tight bag. If you are over about 220 lbs, don't bother, even with the extra wide model. If it was just a matter of it being tighter than most bags, that's one thing. However the shoddy workmanship is unacceptable. I wish I kept the receipt so I could bring this back. October 19, 2015
