Rated 2 out of 5 by Okay for the price I started using calf sleeves after suffering a torn calf muscle last year, and I've had a strain in the other calf too. I have 5 sets of calf sleeves right now. I have these, a set from Zensah, some CEPs, Addidas, and a pair from 2XU. I wear them while working out, and for recovery. First off, let me say that I highly recommend the use of compression sleeves for anyone with calf or shin problems. They really do help. That said, I think many of the reviews on here are based more on the benefit of wearing a calf sleeve, and really don't rate these as they relate to other calf sleeves. These, to me, are like knee-high socks without the feet. They don't provide nearly the compression that the other sets that I have bought do, but they are better than nothing. They are significantly cheaper though. These were around $15. The addidas were around $25 or so when I bought them, and the others are typically in the $40-50 range. One thing I like about these...they're straight black. No logos or other markings. I'm in the Army, and when we do physical training, we're not supposed to have anything with logo markings showing on our uniforms. Since these don't provide quite the support that the others do, but they're the only ones that I can wear, I usually wear these over the tops of other pairs. I have 17.5" calfs, so I wore large. They're just a hair tight when putting them over one of the others, but they still fit (barely). After about four months though, the stitching on the top seam came undone, so now the top is compromised on these. I haven't seen the slightest sign of wear from the others. To be fair, I just got the 2XUs so I haven't really broken them in. I've had the others for anywhere from 2-8 months. If I had to rank them based on compression, support, and durability, I'd rank them like this: 1) Zensah, 2) 2XU (still evaluating though, but initial impressions are good), 3) CEP (1, 2, and 3 are very close), 4) Addidas, and far, far behind at #5 would be these. But these are anywhere from half to one third the price of the others. For $15, they're not bad. If you're active enough to need something like this so you can keep working while recovering from an injury though, then I would recommend paying the extra 30 bucks or so for one of the first three brands. Rated 5 out of 5 by First time without Shin Splints This was my 5th time walking in the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer 3 Day. In all of the previous walks I suffered shin splints so I bought this product hoping that I could escape the pain that I experienced in the past. This is the first time that I did not have shin splints during the 3 day. I will wear this product everytime that I am joggin/walking. October 22, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Compression Sleeve Was having some soreness from running in Minimalist shoes, the compression sleeves seem to be helping. I didn't want to invest too much money, so I thought I'd try these first. July 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by These Can't Possibly Work Can They? You betta believe they do! I get some pretty awful shin splints from running and I was skeptical that something like this would work. I tried them on and immediately noticed a difference. These things provide support and my legs don't hurt nearly as bad while walking or running. Healing time is also reduced when I wear them. My legs no longer hurt for weeks or months after a run. I have confidence that I can get back in there and start running on a regular basis again without causing severe injury. I highly recommend these. They do work very well. November 5, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great product for the price Compression sleeves and socks to be in vogue. What I like about these calf sleeves are they are light weight, extremely breathable, and priced right. I wear them when I go running, cycling, or at night after playing basketball. I used to get calf cramps when I slept on nights where I worked out pretty hard during the day. Wearing these on those sort of night, I haven't had any calf cramps. If you've ever had your calf harden up on you in the middle of a dead sleep, that alone might be worth looking into these. Your mileage may vary. January 26, 2015
