I'm satisfied with the purchase of this over the door pull up bar. Easy assembly, took me around 5 minutes, sturdy for my weight 165lb. If exercises are done properly you will see and feel the results. Push ups, pull ups, sit ups, chin ups, in that order repeat 4 Sets.

I am very very very pleased with my fitness gear bar and its performance. When I got this bar, I intended to use it for pull ups. Unfortunately, it did not fit in my door way. Buying this bar in 2012, it sat in my closet for two years. I realized it could also be used for push ups and sit ups. I started using it 3 times a day with my regular exercise routine. I started seeing results in less than two weeks!!!!! 10 push ups,20 sit ups, 5 sets of 5 ab flexes (like a sit up but to the left or right) morning afternoon and night. Trust me.... this thing works. Just like others, i was sick and tired of watching stupid commercials about exercise equipment. More than tools they were toys. Dont use toys... use this tool!

Does not beat a real pull up station but it works as an alternative.

It has no defects and it was the cheapest option available in the store.

Solid construction. Only thing I don't like is that the foam grips twist a little

Pretty much works as promised: (a) assembles in 5 minutes (allen wrench and nutwrench were included); (b) it doesn't damage doorway molding (assuming you adjust the foam pads appropriately) (c) It holds my 170lb weight without complaining, (d) the different grips exercise different muscle groups.
I haven't figured out how to use it for situps as shown in some pictures (it's too light by itself, and the retainer bar won't fit under a closed door.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by CJ Door frame damage may occur
The outer most padding on the pullup bar is too thin. This caused metal to directly contact the wood frame that is outside of your hands and damaged the wood with scuffs and dents.
The solution for me was to roll up a couple of socks and put behind the padding to ensure bare metal didn't touch the outside frame.I was lucky that my frame is painted white and, after a couple of shots of spray paint, the dents aren't noticeable. If the frame had been natural wood/stained there would be no hiding it. (lucky too I'm single or my wife would have dented me).
As for performance,I like this a lot. Before I ordered it I was unsure if the top frame could handle the weight but it works great and is very stable.
If not for the dents,I would rate this 5 stars on all aspects.

This is the second one we have purchased. We use it everyday along with the bands. Would definitely recommend this item as a part of everyone work out routine.
