After a day on the hill snowboarding in these they were very warm and I stayed dry all day. Got them on sale which made them more reasonably priced. The fit is good although they are a bit on the long side. I am 5'8 and had to roll them up when I was out of my snowboard boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Karen, Cold weather gear. Great Customer Service
I have not had a chance to wear the products I bought, however I would like to comment on the employee that helped me. Without him, I would not have bought anything. He was so helpful! He spent 30 minutes with me, running back and forth getting different sizes and styles. He deserves a raise! Without him I would have been lost and left the store! Great Customer Service!

Rated 5 out of 5 by New hiking addict I am not an expert but...
I do hike a bunch. I have taken these pants (with the Columbia base layer) on a number of hikes and I find them amazing. Some of the hikes have been in temperatures well below freezing and some have been in weather relatively warm (maybe mid 60s) and I have never felt hot nor cold. I do not understand the technology behind these nor am I aware of alternatives, but when you are intense physical labor you feel cool as there is airflow and the heat is not trapped in like with down. Yet when you stop hiking you still do not get cold as you feel the heat radiated back in. I am so used to the days of skiing where you feel hot and sweaty skiing down the mountain and you freeze on the lift back up that items such as this are a new paradigm. I have not yet taken these pants in temperature significantly below freezing, and I think for those temperature you might want a fleece second layer, but thus far I have failed to find the limitations of these pants.
