New year and a new download for the product from last year
Unfortunately I can't get anything but error messages when I try to download the updated Map Manager for this year. This product requires a yearly subscription fee also of which I'm only half way thru the paid 12 months and now I can't add any new or change any courses loaded onto the product. I sent a message via the Izzo website reguarding this error message several weeks ago and have yet to get a response. Looks like I'll have to eat this one and buy another GPS. This was the last one I'll buy from this maker.

Simple to use with the basic features needed.
A very good product for the money. I am a self aware golfer and wanted a product that gave me one distance. If I can hit the yardage exactly every time I might want more capabilities in a GPS but this works perfect for me. I had only one issue on course where the unit picked up the hole on an adjoining par 3 but I believe that may be the close proximity of the par 4 and par 3 greens.

Swami worked great
was right on the number with embedded markers at my favorite course. I found most helpful with pins that were cut on front of greens. Also saves the trouble of finding a marker then trying figure your distance less the angle etc. For the price it does a fine job

I REALLY LIKE IT- AFTER I GOT IT TO WORK
I had a some trouble trying to get it going, and sent the unit back. IZZO was very pleasant and when it was returned ("no apparent problem") it started to work, and IT WORKS VERY WELL. I have compared the readings with others in my foursomes, and the numbers are very accurate. No pretty pictures, but a great value for the price. I would like to see a little stronger belt clip, but so far so good.

Not what i expected
I purchased the Swami 3000 Golf GPS on line and couldn't wait to try it out. I played in a tournament at a local private country club and it would not pick up the course. I took it to another local public course and again, it wouldn't pick up the course. I ended up using a free app on my iphone and it worked just fine. I took the Swami back to a local Dick's and they returned my money. Maybe i just got a bad one, but it made me not want to try another.

Cost isn't everything
I only bought this because my teenage son thought everyone needed to use a distance measuring device. I have never used one, always preferring to walk off the yardage. So I went for the cheapest I could find to make him happy. Well this device is as accurate and easy (easier) to use than my friend's $300 to $500 GPS's. And yes, I have found myself using it from time to time.

I reccommend this product
easy to set up and use.good for general distance to pin. Not for the golfer who needs intermediate distances i.e. to sand trap from fairway. good value.
