Rated 2 out of 5 by A wall would be better... As a tennis coach I was looking for something that would help my players fight the excuse of "not having time to okay" etc. Right out of the box this product had many problems. I ordered the product online and it showed up with just the base. No balls, no cord etc. I sent it back and they sent me a product that was missing the swivel adapter which is kind of important to make the ball move correctly. So I had to send it back yet again and ended up just going to the store about an hour from here and buying one. Once I had the complete set up I was eager to try it. The problem however is that you end up having to change your stroke slightly to compensate for the cord being in the way and for the fact that the ball doesn't bounce true like a regular tennis ball. It does get you moving around and focusing on where the ball is going but it is not very durable and won't last very long. All in all I think a concrete wall with some open parking lot space is a much better solution if you need to train alone. September 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Find. We love this tennis trainer. We all use it. Sometimes the balls are flat, but u definitely need to order a box of replacement balls. My son can play it for hours and he is not a "tennis player" rather a baseball guy, but the hand eye cordination really helps with all sports. My daughter just started playing and loves it. I myself love tennis and love this. I have had other "trainers" in the past, but this one is one of the best for the money and def holds up, we have had it for a few years. Again, you need to be prepared to get the replacement balls. October 6, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great tool, flat balls I used a similar product when I was a kid and got hours of use out of it. My kids have been enjoying it. I think everything is great except the balls are too flat. Dicks need to sell replacement balls in their stores to make it easy to use this for years. Otherwise the replacement ball is $4 and the shipping is $4. July 23, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by JUNK I can't believe that a good company like SKLZ would put out a junk product like this. I had another brand prior for 4 years that my son used and then the rubber band kept breaking as the rubber was getting old. I bought SKLZ by the name and by 10 year old son used it for 2 weeks for about 1 hour a week and the ball broke - not off the string but the ball cracked - do not buy this product I have to return it. Rated 2 out of 5 by Not a great training aide.. Base slides each time ball is hit, would not recommend.. May 29, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Broke in 5 minutes We bought this product for my daughter (doesn't hit hard) and we set it up on asphalt and within the first 5 minutes, the clip that holds the chord to the unit broke off. We are hoping it was a fluke and since it was within the hour, we bought another one. We will see how that goes. July 30, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Unbelievably Bad I recently purchased this only to return it soon there after, complete junk, didn't work correctly, fell apart, it's amazing this is even sold for money! I wouldn't even give it to an enemy, but I did get my money back, so all is fine. September 24, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by The tennis balls were flat Did not work for me. I returned it. The balls were a little flat. August 21, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disappointing purchased as a Christmas gift for my daughter after reading mixed reviews. When I opened it up it appeared the "kinetic chord" had melted to itself. Tried to unwind gently but ended up with several pieces of chord. She was excited about testing the trainer so I tried to tie a couple of the longer pieces of chord together just to let her play for a few minutes but it immediately broke again. December 28, 2014
