Customer Reviews:

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 68 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect shoe I love this shoe. Recently, my husband and I were leaving the frozen wastes of Idaho for the sunny skies of Anaheim, taking some of the grandkids to Disneyland. I have very flat feet, and usually have to wear inserts to make walking long distances comfortable.I needed a new pair of shoes that could stand up to long periods of walking and standing on cement. After the clerk at Dick's recommended Merrell, I bought these, and was very happy. Very light, and so supportive that after three days of walking, NO FOOT PAIN at all. Worth every penny! Rated 5 out of 5 by "Too much buck for it's bang" This product is used for off-track hiking of a minimum of 3 to 4 miles a day. Stands up to it's water-proof, slip-proof advertising and makes the hikes that much more enjoyable and safe. However, these are not the cost for an average-man and end up wearing out before the spendable cash for a fresh pair is acquired. The new tie pull is far better than the last series of this shoes. The pull trigger is not as hard on the laces. The shoe looks a lot slicker than the prior models. July 30, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Why don't they fix the problem ? I have bought at least 10 pairs of this model over the last 7-8 years and the same problem with every pair, the rubber that wraps up from the sole to cover the toe ALWAYS starts coming loose within a few weeks. I didn't buy any for a couple of years and then bought a pair recently, thinking the type of glue or the application would have improved. No such luck, within 10 days the toe started peeling off. I'm done, the quality is the same, the price, much higher. It's a shame because I love this shoe. September 10, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by I'm on my 12th pair of these shoes and buy no other I used to sell shoes at a competitor to Dicks. I came across the Merrill brand and have bought them from Dicks since. By far the best shoe for me wide flat feet. April 27, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Ever I buy a new pair every year. But the pair from four years ago I'm still wearin to mow the lawn in and thy are still in good shape. July 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Incredible shoes These shoes are lightweight, comfortable, breathe well, and are excellent in every way. I cannot recommend them more highly. July 2, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very comfortable Easy on and off Some slipping as you walk but never any blisters. June 25, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Love Merrell's, But Not This One I have a number of Merrell shoes , but this model (the Chameleon4 Stretch Hiking Shoe) did not work for me. I have a total knee replacement and can't bend my leg like I use to and could not get into the shoe even with the help of a shoe horn. Merrell makes quality progucts but the way this shoe is designed makes it impossible to put on without aid of a shoe horn for most folks. When I did get them on my feet partially, the back folded over and was difficult to unfold. Overall the elastic is too tight. I had to return these shoes. May 28, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by I'm done with other brands, only Merrell This is the first time I have bought a pair of Merrells. I usually buy the more traditional brands. Not anymore. This is simply the best pair of shoes I have owned. I bought them originally to wear to hike when I go camping. I find myself reaching for them all the time. They feel so great on your feet, lightweight and comfortable. I love simply slipping them on and cinching the tab on the elastic strings, no more fiddling with shoe laces. I highly encourage anyone to try on a pair at the store and experience these shoes for yourself. May 28, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Expecting Higher Standards For The Price This pair of shoes felt good in the store and for a couple of days afterward but is now rubbing a blister in my small toe. I have another pair that the lining inside the shoe behind my heel fell apart. They now wear funny and the hole rubs my heel and I am not very impressed. April 10, 2012
