This product is simple and not have many moving parts. I need it for two things; to releive presure and maintain arm strength.
I have not used a pull up bar for 20 years now. The first bar I owned I baught while in my second apartment; from Fox medical supply company. That bar helped me stand up on my feet and put weight on my legs. This bar will help me maintain my strength in my arms as I get older. I always had strong arms but have been in a wheelchair since 1985. Even thow I have always had a manual chair and my arms have always been my mod of propultion, I have to make sure that my strength do not deplete so fast or I become old to quick. I am fifty years old sense last year fifty one this year; and I will use this bar to m-a-i-n-t-a-i-n my arm strength while releiving presure from my buttocks. I will give an update on this review in a couple of months to a year, to let you know how I'm doing with this piece of equipment. I know that as long as this equipment will hold my 249 lb body; I while be able to loose a little weight and ferm up just a little bit as I reenter college to finish my degree; and is still looking for my woman too mary, this is one of the hardest things that I have every attempted to do. Finding a women was not as hard when I was younger as it is now being in a wheelchair.
PS I'll give another review at the end of this year,

Great Value, Easy Installation...
This item is simple to install. It took only a few minutes. Comes with a template. You'll spend more time hunting for the right drill bit than anything else. Weight limit of 220#. The arm pivots to allow for two different exercises that will help you build strength for the actual pull-ups. You'll end up with four small holes in the door frame. There are more expensive items but why pay more?

Does its job
We have this set up in our basement doorway, with a door. It allows the door to close with no issues. It's a good basic pullup that we can all use, including the kids, since you can lower the bar. Their feet touch the ground when lowered, but they can still pull themselves up. Also, if you're a beginner with pullups, you can keep your feet on the ground and do them until you increase your upper body strength. Nothing fancy but works for our needs. Also, we put tennis grip tape around the handle to make it grippier & it does this without bulking it up too much for littler hands. Probably wouldn't recommend for a tall person unless the doorway is extra high to accomodate the height. It does make metallic noise when lowering the bar. Wish there was some sort of cushion so it isn't as "clangy" when changing its bar position. It does require screws to install. Would have preferred not to have to use screws, but it is pretty sturdy for our use. None of us is over 175 lbs.

works great!
you probably need a screw gun to attach it. my kid has been using this to workout pre HS football season. we put it in his door and he uses it everyday. he started out doing 1 pullup and can now easily do reps of 10. make sure you face it the correct way so that you can unhook the top and use the pullup bar for easier pull up exercises.

Just what my workout ordered!!!
I'm doing a workout that requires I do Australian pull ups and was in Dick's looking for something to fill the bill. I couldn't find anything and was about to leave and found this item. It's great because it's easy to set up, although it has to be placed in a doorway permanently. The instructions are easy to follow and they give you a guide for where to drill the holes, making setup a breeze (if you have the right tools). It took me only 15-20 min to set this up and now my workout can continue without a hitch. Great product!!!

I would buy this product again
I use the product to strength train. It will stay wherever you put it and the door still operates. None.

Best deal for a chin up bar
I installed the bar under my basement steps in that area of wasted space.Fit perfectly and is a very sturdy piece of epuipment. It comes with all the brackets you need. It even has novice exercises with it. For the price this probably the best chin up bar out there.
