Its a good wrestling shoe has good grip on the mat but the shoe teared in the first week of me using them

Mat Kicks
This past holiday, my fiancée surprised me with Filipino Martial Arts lesson at an Academy which allows its students to ware wrestling/martial arts shoes during training. Other than shopping for common athletic footwear (running, football, soccer, etc.), this was the first time I was in the market for a pair of shoes for this type of activity. At first I was searching online to seek out the best price but I had then decided that it would be better to head out and try a pair on before I make a decision (I'm glad I did). I went into my local Dick's Sporting Goods store where unfortunately there was not as wide of a selection available as they do have online but I did have 3 to 4 pairs that were there to try on. Having purchased Adidas soccer shoes in the past gave me some idea what to expect for this brand. From what I recall their soccer shoe line ran a little too sung for me for my size 11s and it turns out that the Adidas Men's Pretereo 2 Wrestling Shoe does the same. Going 1/2 a size up to an 11.5 addressed that issue and the shoe was a comfortable fit. Unlike the other pairs that were on display, this pair has a mid-top design with a Velcro strap that give somewhat of an ankle support which I like. The quality of the materials and the aesthetics of the brand were also to my liking which ultimately lead to my purchase of these shoes. For any potential buyers, my recommendation is to go ahead a get a 1/2 size up from your normal running shoes size otherwise you run the risk of having such a tight fit that it would be too uncomfortable and annoying to ware while you are training. Other than that I am pleased with my purchase and the quality of products Adidas continues to make.

Good for beginners
I would recommend beginners for this shoe, but if you're wrestling any higher than high school freshmen I would suggest a different shoe. It can wear out fairly quickly and there aren't very good lace holders, but other than that it's a good shoe.
