PERFECT alternative to biking tights
We had an unusually long winter this year, with some very cold days. As a biker who goes out daily, the cold required me to wear long leggings while riding, which meant one of my two pair of Lycra biking tights. I don't necessarily mind wearing tights while biking, but it required me to bring along a pair of leg-zippered track pants if I wanted to go to a store afterwards, and didn't want to go home first to change. (There's just no way I will walk into a store wearing black or grey Lycra tights, especially here in the South...) I finally found exactly what I was looking for when I found these online from Dick's. Unfortunately, North Face may not be making these any more, so I hope they replace them with something equally as comfortable, light, and easy to wear as these. I can bike with these in 40 degree weather and stay about as warm as I do wearing tights, with the bonus that although the material is stretchy, they are looser in the thigh and lower leg and thus resemble form-fitting work-out pants. No embarrassment wearing these to buy some eats or beer after a good ride! And I must admit that putting these on and taking them off is MUCH easier than a pair of clingy tights...
