Is the quality of this cook set as high as - say another G*S*I - no. But for less than $10 this set is great. I have taken this to several week long trips on the Appalachian Trail, and once to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, and this kit has yet to fail. You do have to be careful that you do not lose the wingnut, as you won't be able to secure the whole kit closed, but - on that note, if you do lose it, you can buy a replacement at the hardware store.
If you aren't willing to pay top dollar for a top dollar set, then don't expect that you will get top dollar results on your food. For $10, this kit is great. Boiling water, small quick meals that you'd expect on a weeklong trip - this is what this kit was designed for, and it accels.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mad Uncle Andy Frying pan poorly designed
The frying pan is off balance and will not balance on a table, much less a camping stove until substantial food is added (oil/spices aren't enough). Good enough for bacon, burgers, &c, where sticking is unlikely to be an issue, but not good for powdered eggs. Ironically, if I'm toting burgers and bacon, I am probably car camping and can bring more sophisticated cookware. Whole mess is flimsy. Wingnut that holds it together would be easily lost. Still for $5, what was I expecting?

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bob H It was what I needed at a reasonable price.
I bought this mess kit for my granddaughter's first Girl Scout camping trip. It was under $10 and she was happy with it. It wasn't the highest quality but good enough for the first one.

I would prefer the surplus GI issue mess kit but they are hard to find. For the price its really hard to go wrong with this kit.

The largest pan of set will not even hold two cups of water to cook a package of ramen noddles. Very cheap! We returned set to store!

Took the product with me on a recent 1-week trek up the Appalachian Trail. All in all the cookware was great, but the handle on pot wasn't very sturdy and the plastic top on it melted. Other than those two issues, everything else functioned properly.

If you are looking for camping cookware, DO NOT buy this mess kit. It is very light weight and fairly compact. Once open, it is fairly stable on the stove. However, at the first contact with fire, you will burn whatever is in your pan. The metal is so thin you can bend it with your fingers. It is impossible to clean as whatever you cook you will burn. To clean this kit you will need sandpaper and steelwool! Also, the kit handle doesn't work well as a clamp. It doesn't slide open or closed very well. Once together, it is difficult to take apart and then difficult to get back together. When used as the handle to the frying pan, it is strong and stable but good luck getting the kit open without a hammer and chisel. There are much better kits out there than this one.

The kit works great, It folds up nice and small and cleans easily. My only problem is that the aluminum is so shiny it reflects sunlight like a mirror and it's hard to cook while being blinded.
