Love the coat!
Love the coat!! Took advise from other reviews and got a size bigger then usual....wise choice!! The only complaint I have is the zipper on the coat. I have had issues getting the zipper to zip the first time.

Better Than What I Expected
I am a big reviewer reader and that ultimately helps me decide if I should purchase a product or not. So, I read about how this coat is narrow at the hips which made me feel very hesitant about purchasing it, but I went ahead and did it anyway knowing I could always return it if it didn't work out. Let me say that at 25 years, standing 5'5 or 5'6 tall, at 145 lb. I love this jacket in black in a size medium! It is perfect for me. The coat accentuates my curves. That's why it is more narrow at the hips. It's trying to hug your curves. If you carry weight more around your hips, then yes....this may be a problem for you and you may need to order a size up. But, for me; perfect. It seems to be made of good, durable quality. I went outside in 31 degree F weather and I felt comfortable in this coat. I rated it a 4 instead of a 5 because I think it is expensive when not on sale.

Toasty Warm!!
This jacket system is the BEST! About 8-10 years ago, I was given a similar jacket to this one but it was the other brand name.........I still have it and plan on keeping it too. I grew out out of that jacket but am hopeful I fit in it again next year. At first, I was very skeptical of shopping on-line for this type of jacket because I wanted almost a duplicate of that old jacket and shopping on-line can be very deceiving. However, I must admit that this new jacket is exactly like the old jacket just with a few different features. This one is also extremely warm and what I like most about this is that you can take the jacket apart very easily to wear whatever layer of warmth you want. I go walking a lot outside and with this crazy NJ weather, I am always ready with this jacket system. Cold, windy and blustery weather...........BRING IT ON!! I am nice and toasty warm without overheating in this jacket. You will not be disappointed with this purchase!

great multi-purpose coat
I love this coat! The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because when the inner jacket is zipped in the coat fits snugly around the hips. (a size larger and the coat would be too big) The color is great for those mom's who need a warm coat for on and off of the slopes. Shape is attractive. Tons of versatility for those unpredictable upstate NY winters!

Will this product live up to the warmth that it advertises?
This winter jacket with liner was a gift to me. I go out photographing at all hours of the day and night throughout the year. Apparently, I have been noted for saying that my current winter jacket is too bulky when using my camera on photograph outings...? I didn't realize that I had commented on that issue more than once!!! So, my boyfriend purchased this jacket for me because North Face is known for producing clothing that is thin and flexible but warm. Therefore, when I do get around to using the jacket when I go out photographing, I will test the warmth of this coat.
The one issue I have with the jacket now is that it is tight around the hips.... I am not a large person; I am fit and work out 3-4 days a week; I have never had issues with coats too tight around the hips - this is the first.
Another issue I am having with the coat is the zipper - it is not an easy one to do blind folded! The alignment of the zipper needs to be perfect for it to work properly.
The price was surprising..... $270 is a lot for a coat --- it better prove to be a super - duper warm jacket when I'm out photographing!!!
Send me another one of these reviews in 6 - 8 months & I will let you know if the North Face jacket has lived up to its claim! Thank you.

Very Nice!!!
I got my mom an XL because the outer-jacket sorta cinches in the hip area. It might be me but when I tried zippering the outer-jacket it takes me 3 tries before i get it to zip (Like it'll clasp together but i can't pull the zipper up then i have to take it off then do it again) but other than that, my mom loved the color and she finds it comfortable.

Bad product
Purchased for my daughter....Button fell off on Jacket, had to be returned. No replacement jacket was in stock. had to go somewhere else to get a replacement

Great coat. Great customer service!
I recently purchased a North FaceŽ Women's Kalispell Insulated TriclimateŽ Jacket in black in an XL from Dick's Sporting Goods online. I was totally thrilled with the coat; I had wanted the black color and Dicks was one of a very few retailers who offered that color. I had tried on a different color at another retainer and really liked the 3-in-1 flexibility and that the outer layer is waterproof. I have been working hard to lose weight and unfortunately, the coat was too big so I had to return it. I am hoping to find it online soon in a Large. We don't have a Dick's Sporting Goods in my town but I was totally impressed with the staff and customer service I received both online, via their customer service phone line, and the staff at the store in Renton, WA. I would gladly shop at Dick's again...both online at and their stores.

Great Jacket
I am very happy with this jacket. The insulated shell is awesome and I wear it without the liner quite often. I also like the deeper pockets. I will probably be ordering another one in a different color!
