Rated 2 out of 5áby Nice Sticks but really, doubling the price?!?! I have a 3 sets of these out and they do work well. I would purchase more for this season but certainly not at $109. These were on sale for $50 all last season! Really Dicks?!?! August 1, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby I will by another! I use this ladder system to hang lock on limb stands and to get in and out of the stand while deer hunting. Using this system is much quicker and easier to install than traditional screw in steps and once it is up its there and sturdy. It is a bit bulky and heavy carrying in and I would prefer that it had a ratchet strap system versus pull strap and needs to have D rings or another access to lock it on the tree to prevent theft. Rated 5 out of 5áby Climbing Sticks are Great and at an Inexpensive Price I like this product and actually used it to take one of my 8-point bucks this season. At 20 feet the sticks get you up higher than most ladder stands and at a cheaper price. Unlike ladder stands, you can put these up yourself, although another person helping makes them go up faster. I especially like the way these attach to the tree: there is a metal bracket and tree brace that is attached to each of the sections. The bracket is attached below the steps so that you don't step on it. The steps are on opposing sides of the sticks not alternating so that climbing is easier and the steps are also angled inwards so you are less likely to slip off. I like the buckle straps because you can put them around the tree so that to tighten them you pull towards you instead of away from you like another manufacturer's set up sticks I bought. Because of the weight of these sticks, this is a product that you put up well before the season starts. I also spray-painted a camouflage pattern on the sticks to make them less visible. To deter theft, you can lock them on with a cable and padlock and replace the quickclips with nuts and bolts to make it more difficult to take apart. Because these sticks are contiguous and not separate, they are better suited to straighter tree trunks. Coupled with a large platform hang-on stand, a safety Life-Line, some hangers for your bow or gun and your pack, these sticks will help you hunt deer. December 21, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5áby Would be a 5 star but all the hardware is garbage Bought 2 set of these on sale, very good welds and solid construction. The cleats and strap hangers are supplied with cheap wing nuts, and the sticks attach with standard spring clips. (THROW THIS STUFF IN THE GARBAGE) Do yourself a favor and replace these with bolts. I used grade 8 bolts for all and when bolted together rock solid with no sound or wobble. (I also put nylon washers for no metal to metal contact) They come supplied with 5 tension tie down straps, these are absolute junk. They are 5' long and will not reach all the way around a tree safe enough to hang a stand from (maybe 14") so If you want a stand in a tree that will sway with the slightest wind or not offer any concealment the straps are great. Primal Vantage (also makes the Field and Stream stands) makes these too and if they could spend an extra 10 cents for a 6" strap these would be much better. I plan on spraying bedliner on them and camo painting after the season, and with my grade 8 bolt upgrade and real ratchet straps plan to get many years of service out of these (keep everything inside after season) November 23, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5áby Great sticks and very safe but why the HUGE price increase? They are great sticks and I probably have about 8 sets out where I hunt right now. They are very sturdy and the dual steps make them much safer to climb up and down. Plus, with the 20' height you can easily get to the height you need. The one thing I am baffled by is that they doubled the price in the last 4 months! Really? I was about to buy 3 more sets and say the price is double what the regular price was just a few months ago! Not very happy to see. I've bought 15 or so stands and 8 sets of sticks from Dicks but seeing this price increase makes me pretty upset. July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great Sticks I recently purchased two sets of these climbing sticks along with two extra sections to add to the total height of each set. The quality of the construction is as good or better than any of the competitor sticks I have used and I have tried them all. I like the double sided sticks and think it is worth a little cost difference to use them. They are much safer than the alternating one sided sticks. These sticks are a good buy at regular price and a great deal if you can get them on sale. I will be buying more of these as we add stands to our property and will replace some of our old sets with them as well. August 24, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great Steps After putting in Ladder stands the last two years as well as screw in steps we picked up a couple of these last summer and now are using them on every stand we put it. They are extremely easy to put together and simple to carry into the woods. 20 feet its great height but for our higher stands we just add an extension piece and hit our desired height. The pin design to put them together is a snap. The cinch straps are a little short for any decent size tree but we now us a couple ratchet straps on the bottom two sticks and then combine two cinch straps together to fit the top two sticks. Great price and a great product. If you are thinking between the stagger steps ladder sticks and these, go with these for the extra few bucks, its well worth it. January 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5áby Double rung is the only way to go I was fed up with my single rung climbing sticks making it difficult to get into and out of my hang on stand. this double rung stick gives you a rung to step on no matter which side you strap this to relative to the stand. Pretty good overall, though like all climbing sticks they come with cinch straps rather than ratchet straps so I just bought a set of camo ratchets when I picked this up and replaced the top and bottom straps with them. Good and solid now. January 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5áby All ups Great product, Very easy to put together out of the box and put on tree, It sells for a very reasonable price and it has great quality. I inspected all my welds before I assembled it and it all looked great. Also, unlike other climbing stick that you'll get for the same price if not more is the side by side steps which is a plus when hanging a stand and climbing to it as well. September 17, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great Sticks! I didn't expect much from these climbing sticks for the inexpensive price but I was very pleasantly surprised! They are easy to put up....sturdy and easy to climb with. I bought them to replace some screw in tree steps I had and I will never go back! Buy them....you won't be dissappointed. November 13, 2012
