Outdoor Edge Grip-Blaze Folding Knife 5 5 1 1
Outstanding knife! I'm very impressed with this knife! I was looking for a gift for my young son to commemorate his upcoming "first hunt", and this knife fit the bill perfectly. The knife is large enough with enough belly to be useful, but not too large for his hands. (NOTE: An adult with large hands or thick fingers may find this knife too small. For me, the handle is border-line big enough...for a big 10 year old, it's perfect.) The handle is very soft & grippy, so it will add an extra margin of safety. It feels very sturdy also, unlike the Bear Grylls Scout by Gerber which felt very flexible and cheap. I wish it had a slightly larger finger guard, but it should be fine. Good jimping for the thumb for added control. The orange color is a little more pale than it looks on line, but no big deal. Now, the blade...Very nice finish on very good steel (AUS 8A). It was literally hair-flinging sharp. No play in the blade, which was centered nicely. Opens & closes easily but very securely. The sheath is basic ballistic nylon with velcro closure, but does have loops on the back to allow for vertical or horizontal carry. You need the sheath, as there is no pocket clip. January 7, 2013
