The North Face Men's Chilkats II Winter Boot
Best Boot so far
I've owned several North Face products and have been satisfied with most of them. These boots are the warmest that I've owned. I spent 10 hours standing on a ski hill and my feet never got cold or sore. I'd recommend these to anyone.

Warm and dry feet
Used boots for 1st time today during a 5" wet snow storm. After wearing boots for about 6 hours my feet felt great kept my feet warm and socks dry. You NEED to order boot one size larger then your normal shoe size. Very happy with my choice as I am very picky about my feet and not being comfortable in footwear.

I bought these boots for a trip to Vermont. A week after they arrived we got 30 inches of snow. I wore the boots for almost 8 hours in the snow while shoveling. My feet were totally dry and warm the entire time. I high;y recommend them They do run small. I ordered a size about my usual size (based on other reviews) and was very glad I did.

Great Warm Boots!
Read other reviews and a full size larger than normal measurement was right on. I wear 10.5 (90% of the time) ordered 11.5 - perfect. This boot has a snug/padded fit which makes it feel more like a shoe than a boat-like typical snow boot, which is a positve.

a good value for the $
Boots are comfortable and kept my feet warm during snow caving. Only wish it could be tightened a little more, they are a little loose.

I bought this pair of boot for a Boy Scout snowboarding/ski trip to New Mexico. The boot overall was comfortable and kept my feet warm. The sizes seem to run small even when compensating for thick/warm socks. I normally wear a size 9 but purchased a 10.5.

These are the right boots
I had been wearing a pair of hiking boots outside in the past winters which were sufficient for going from here to there and back but I needed something warm, waterproof and comfortable for when I had to shovel the walk and the driveway. I did a lot of online research and narrowed down my choice to these The North Face Chilkats II. Part of the research was reading the customer reviews, many of which stated that these boots are sized small, even though the item description says they are "true to size". I normally wear a narrow 10.5 size shoe and can fit comfortably in to a size 11 boot. However, because of the size discrepancies in the customer reviews, I decided to order these in a size 11.5 ~ and I am very glad that I did! With heavier socks on the fit was perfect. So my suggestion, as in other reviews, is to order these boots one full size larger than your normal shoe size. Although we are in a winter snow drought here outside of Chicago this winter, I did get a chance to wear them out to salt the driveway after an ice storm a couple of weeks ago. As advertised, the grippers gave me real good footing on the ice. My feet stayed absolutely warm but not to the point of sweating through my socks. I feel that I chose the right boots in getting these Chilkats II. The only place that had this size 11.5 in inventory was Dick's Sporting Goods online. I attributed that to the fact that I did my shopping right after Christmas on December 29th and thus the various online store inventories were depleted. I also have a Dick's Sporting Goods store nearby so it would have been convenient for me if I had to return them. But remember ... if you order them online, it is VERY IMPORTANT that you order a full size larger than you normally wear.
