Rated 4.1 out of 5 by 119 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boot and my take on the sizing. I typically wear a size 10 in running shoes but have needed a 10.5 on some occasions. I went to Dick's to try these boots out before considering ordering them on-line due to reviewer comments. I first tried a 10 and my toes were touching the front of the boot. I then tried a 10.5 and they fit in terms of length and my toes didn't hit the front, but was definitely tight on my foot. I did this all the way up to a 12 which was no longer tight feeling. At this time, I was under the impression that I needed a 12 in this boot. However, I am indecisive and decided to check the selection on winter boots at another outdoor merchandise store. I decided to try out these boots again (best selection at this store) and asked for a 12. Once again, the boots seemed to fit which was no surprise because of the massive amount of insulation but I decided to take the insole out and compare it to my shoe's insole. As you'd expect, the boot's insole was significantly larger than that of my size 10 shoe, but I wanted to make sure the length of the boot was true to size. At this point, I took a good amount of time walking around in the size 12 and found them to be very comfortable, but I could definitely feel my foot slip around, especially while using the store's simulated outdoor terrain ramp. I also noticed the notorious crease forming from a shoe being too large, which made me wonder if this would cause the rubber to pull from the leather prematurely. So I actually did the same testing in a 10.5 and 11. I found that overtime, the primaloft lining seemed to better form around my foot and not feel as tight. After spending way too long on my decision, I ended up going with the 10.5 because my foot felt the most secure. However, if I consistently wore thick socks, I would have gone with the 11. To summarize my findings: 1. I'd automatically go up a 1/2 size. I wear a 10 and my toes were smashed in the front of the boot (not a tight feeling, but a feeling of my toes are curled up due to lack of length). 2. The 1/2 size up will feel tight around your foot, but the insulation seems to form around your foot and become more comfortable. Your foot will probably not slide around much walking up and down hills. 3. If you wear thick socks, 1 size up may be your best option. Your foot will still feel somewhat tight, but once again, I found it to get better as I walked around. 4. 1 1/2 to 2 sizes up your foot will no longer have the tight feeling, but as you walk around you will notice your foot to move around as you truly will have more length to spare but may not seem that way since the insulation does a great job of forming around your foot. 5. Bottom line: These are great boots but the fit does feel tight due to the thick insulation. I am somebody who doesn't mind the "tight" feeling as long as my toes can move and are not smashed in the toe box hence why I only went up a 1/2 size. If you are somebody who doesn't like the "tight" feeling, then 1 1/2 to 2 sizes up is your best option. I hope this helps and happy holidays November 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Warm and dry feet Used boots for 1st time today during a 5" wet snow storm. After wearing boots for about 6 hours my feet felt great kept my feet warm and socks dry. You NEED to order boot one size larger then your normal shoe size. Very happy with my choice as I am very picky about my feet and not being comfortable in footwear. March 8, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Careful with the size Personally I think the boot looks better than the picture. These boots are comfortable, stylish, and keep your feet very warm. My only caution is to read the sizing info. I wear a size 11 in every shoe I buy. However, I saw that these run small and ordered a size 12. A size 12 ended up being perfect for my feet. Any smaller and I would have had to return them. I suggest ordering one size bigger than you usually buy. Other than that I am very happy with my purchase. February 1, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very Insulated This is a nice "light" boot. Loads of insulation! Because of the additional insulation, must go up a few sizes, very comfortable. December 20, 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by way too small I only rated it 2 stars because the sizing is way off. I wear a 10.5, ordered 11.5 because of other reviews and they were still way to tight. the boot is good quality and I would recommend if you can get the size right. October 26, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by chilkat boot ll I ordered another pair of these boots, because they are comfortable, warm and lasted me a long time. ( over a year and I work construction.) March 18, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great boots I bought these boots for a trip to Vermont. A week after they arrived we got 30 inches of snow. I wore the boots for almost 8 hours in the snow while shoveling. My feet were totally dry and warm the entire time. I high;y recommend them They do run small. I ordered a size about my usual size (based on other reviews) and was very glad I did. February 17, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bought two sizes larger than normal and still too small. Boots seem very durable although bought a pair two sizes larger and still too small. February 25, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Like trying to shove an elephant into a sandwich bag. I wear a 13 boot. I ordered a 13. I should have ordered a 15, if they made them that large. There is soooooo much padding. I wish I had the chance to really wear them. I know people who have small feet and love these boots. I also wear an orthotic insert. There was just barely enough room to wedge them in. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great buy, excellent value but buy one size bigger! I bought these for my dad and he loves them! They are very warm and comfortable! You can't beat the price, they are totally worth it! Make sure you buy one size bigger. My dad wears a 12 and I picked up a 13. February 14, 2015
