Quality Rod Originally ordered the TIS70MM (medium,moderate) but the tip was softer than I expected. I wanted a rod for reds, snook, trout and smaller tarpon. Exchanged it for the MF (medium,fast) and could not be happier. Build quality is exceptional. Nice sensitivity, good backbone, great for medium tackle and can still cast lighter lures and baits long and smooth. I own several St Croix rods (salt & fresh) and have never been disappointed. And this one is still made in the USA. August 20, 2012

Big fish....small rod....love it. I have used the 8' Tidemaster, 8-17lb., to catch Cobia to 40 lbs. out of Daytona Beach. Rigged with a Shimano Stradic, 20 lb. test Vanish, I catch fish on artificial reefs that have a lot of fishing pressure. My light tackle does not spook wary fish and I have no problem getting the bite. No bite...no fish. The Tidemaster will move big fish away from structure if you have skills. I have caught gag grouper and red snapper to 28", mangrove snapper, redfish, and many large flounder as well. June 14, 2012
