Rated 5 out of 5 by CGBowhunter Great Treestand
I waited a few years to buy this treestand, and it is well worth the wait. I was using a steel climbing stand for years with the standard holes and clips for the cables. The cables on this treestand are incredibly easy to work with in the dark without the fear of dropping the pin and searching for it. The light weight makes long hikes to your stand much more bearable. The size of the stand is perfect, and the seat is very comfortable. The rapid climb stirrups make the climb easy. Once you are set up in your tree, the stand is rock solid, and quiet. I would recommend to anyone looking to purchase a climbing stand to save up your money, and buy this stand.

I love this climber. It's light weight and a very stable platform. I can sit in this climber all day unlike my previous stand. I love the quietness of the SD Metal. I hit it with my shotgun while a deer was within range and he never knew I was there. Very portable and no strain on my back. Great price, great product.

This stand would of been a 5 star if the camo pads were not held on by plastic scraps. for 300 dollars should of been held on better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by huntrat nice stand, poor package handling
i love the stand. it is comfortable and sturdy feeling.
i bought this stand in the new store that just opened in athens ga. there were two stands in the store and both boxes were taped up. i got the better looking of the two boxes. i found upon opening the stand at home that it was not just a damaged box. the stand had been open and fully assembled, perhaps a returned item. the included summit real tree camo hat advertised on the box had been removed. i was disappointed that the stand would be opened and items removed and yet it was still sold as a new item.
the product is great. i would have liked to have gotten a brand new, unopened stand though.

My husband has been using the same tree stand for 20 years - we think it was time to upgrade. And this was quite an upgrade. The stand is comfortable, easy to climb, lightweight.....I could go on and on but I'm his wife and I don't know what else to say except it was a wise purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jason23 Quite and comfortable
I bought this a few weeks before the 2013 archery season and have taken it out on three hunts. This is my first climbing stand, so I can't compare it with any others, but so far I am completely satisfied. It is relatively lightweight (only 20 lbs), doesn't clank around when I'm hiking in/out, is quiet when I move around a little in the tree, and is absolutely rock solid once you get it attached. It is also very comfortable, and I had no problem spending 12 hours in it on my last hunt. I even fell asleep in it and woke up to a button buck grazing directly below me. This stand is very easy to assemble in the dark because there are no pins to worry about. It is also completely welded. The only part that is bolted on is the folding footrest.
At first I was concerned that the wrap around front bar would get in the way of my bow, but if I set it at about mid-thigh level when I am standing on the bottom platform, I can actually lean over it and use it as another contact point (in addition to my tether rope and the floor) for additional stability while aiming. I should note that I could not lean out far enough with the tree belt that came with the harness/stand, and instead use a wrap around nylon rope with a caribeener and prussic knot to give me addition length on my tether.
The only drawback is the size. This is a little large for hiking long distances in thick woods, and I've had a little trouble with it getting caught on brush/branches. I didn't let that detract from the rating, however, because summit makes smaller specialty stands for that purpose.
Overall this is great for those of us new to climbing stands, and very solid/comfortable for anyone uneasy with heights.
One more quick note: the ad I saw for it claimed that the front portion of the wrap around bar was removable for bow hunting. This is NOT true. Like I said before, everything but the footrest is welded.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SportsmanAK47 This is the one to buy
This is my first hunting season using this tree stand. The quality and comfort is outstanding. The stand is very easy to use and once positioned in the tree proves to be very stable. I'm around 200lbs and the stand provides a stable platform to stand and shoot a bow or rifle. The comfort is great. I've spent hours in this stand. It's so comfortable you will fall to sleep it your not careful. The top portion of the stand is padded making it a great arm rest while surrounding you to keep you secure. I found the price to be a little on the high side, but after using the stand it proved to be worth every penny.
