Rated 5 out of 5 by I would buy again good dehydrator December 28, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by temperature control is great ! Just got this dehydrator, have used it just one time and already love it. I sliced up a 3 lb venison roast into 1/4" pieces. marrinated it over night and put it in at 145 degrees for about 8 hours. BEST JERKY I have ever had. Can't wait to dry pears, apples & peaches from our fruit trees. The jerky was not hard and brittle like making it in the oven. Being able to control the temperature is a great pluss and the fan evenly dries all eight trays. August 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best value Great price for an effective product. I've used the dehydrator for jerky and it works as expected. February 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A solid unit, no buyer's remorse We originally bought one of the cheap-o dehydrators from Walmart. They are okay, but not designed for heavy duty use. We upgraded to the Weston about a year ago and have had great luck ever since. I have made literally pounds of jerky and have had a great time experimenting with flavors. The wife has dehydrated everything from fruits and vegetables to oddball things like broccoli/cheddar soup and spaghetti sauce. This unit is quiet and consistent. Much better drying than the old unit. The only improvement I would like to see is metal trays instead of the plastic ones. The plastic eventually gets brittle and cracks. September 17, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by square tray are way better then the old round ones. Everything works really well. I like the temp. can be adjustable, and easy to clean. October 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great food Dehydrator Very quiet, good heat and airflow on this 600 watt unit, 8 trays, Temperature control and heat suggestions easy to read. Bottom trays dried faster than the top ones when drying jerky so I would suggest rotating the trays from bottom to top half way through drying. Held around 7 pounds of burger jerky meat using the Realtree jerky & snack stick gun. The only thing I would change is to have steel trays instead of plastic ones. I would buy again and would suggest to others to buy it. Purchased online and picked up in the store. October 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by gets the job done I used the dehydrator to make sweet potato and chicken treats for my dogs. I cooked the chicken as suggested in the directions. I like the treats to be more on the crispy side so it took about 14 hours but they turned out great. Clean up was a breeze. October 23, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy to use, easy to clean I have only used it so far for meats at it works, takes a little longer that I expected but still works good. February 18, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst ever!! I have used various dehydrators over the past 40 years. I make mostly jerky, sliced meat from beef, venison and turkey.. I recently had the opportunity to help a friend make jerky on his new Weston, 8-drawer dehydrator that he purchased at Dicks sporting goods, it is marketed by Real-Tree.. Terrible results, after 2 hours of running on 165 degrees the only pieces that had even begun to dry were a few at the back of two or three of the lower trays.. In short, it took us about 16 hours to properly dehydrate the batch of jerky.. On my Nesco dehydrator it takes about 5 hours to do the same thing.. I would never purchase a Weston and neither should Real-Tree!! February 6, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by well worth the money . I would recommend this. I have made 8 batches of jerky good so far. the only negative thing is that you have to rotate the racks every 3 hours takes about 7 to 9 hours to dry the beef. December 15, 2014
