idk my dad bought one 20 somethin years ago i took it cut the reed alittle and iv pulled 6 geese in to my grass yard and its great for ealry season comeback call we shot at some hit one down and i called them back and got more shots at them October 27, 2013
Don't waste your money I decided to pick up this Big River call because my dad has a similar one and it sounds great. However, the current model is absolutely horrible. It is the single worst sounding goose call I have ever used. I spent about 4 hours trying to tune it and couldn't get it to produce the right tone. I exchanged it for another, put in another 4 hours of tuning, and although this one sounds better, it is by no means good. I was shocked at the difference between this model and the one my dad has. After taking his apart I noticed that the tone channel was set opposite of the mouth piece (after the tube) and was much easier to blow/break, so I tried tuning mine that way as well - no luck. I assume that they must have changed the reed material over the years because I couldnt find any other difference between the models (besides the camo pattern). October 18, 2013
This one is bad news.... get a short reed Don't bother with this one... sounds like a party horn compared to my $25 short reed....just learning this year, and this one doesn't have that goose rasp of a short reed nor is it half as loud....hoping they will let me take it back.....my cheap short reed echoes , and can cal em from far. This long honker, is not very impressive at all. Even my 13 year old daughter was laughing at me when I was blowing it... she asked me if my goose call broke. take a couple of days and learn to blow a short reed. youtube has a ton of videos that will teach you. I have a canada hammer and even as a rookie, I have finished a ton of geese in the decoys. Front 3 landed and its 20 brothers got there landing spot picked out when the shootin starts.....love my short reed. October 7, 2013
Great call All around a very nice goose call. Very loud and durable. Another thing I liked was the camo finish!! Great call. January 15, 2013
Horrible call. Don't waste your money This call sticks when it's cold and the plastic tube the reeds are in cracks in numerous areas. My friend has the same call and has the same problems. My other friend has the walnut big river flute and has no problems with it. Used it several years now and called in many geese. Holds up well. As far as this camo plastic one, don't waste your money!
