Half the price of Concept 2, 1/10th the quality
Maybe I'm spoiled. I purchased the Stamina ATS Rower a couple of weeks ago because I've grown fond of rowing as a cardio workout, and wanted to be able to do it at home. I had been using the Concept 2 at the gym at work up until then. Ideally I would have gotten a Concept 2 of my own, but to compromise on the price point with my significant other, I settled on the Stamina ATS. I knew it wasn't going to stack up to the Concept 2. I knew it didn't have variable resistance, knew it was louder, but this thing has DECENT reviews, so I thought it would be HALF as good as a Concept 2 at least.
I opened it up with great anticipation when it arrived, got all the parts together and organized, set it up. The excitement was fading quickly as I noticed the sub-par quality of the thing. Foot holds were held on with an elastic band and a tiny hinge of metal, the guides for the chain looked loose and as though they were going to wear out in a matter of a month, one of the metal legs had a spur from manufacturing that should have been ground down that almost gashed my finger open. I put it together, not too difficult unlike some reviews I've seen suggested. I sat down and strapped my feet in, grabbed the handle and took my first stroke. With a whir reminiscent of a Harley Davidson the rower came to life.The pull had little to no resistance - to compare, for those who have used a C2, it was like having the resistance down on 1 at best. Way low drag factor. I gave it a few more strokes, thinking maybe it just needed some speed. Nope. A couple more strokes and the foot holds slipped out of place. I got the foot holds back in position and gave it another try, hoping it was going to get better. It didn't. And then the foot holds slipped out of place again.
The one positive thing I can say is that Dick's was awesome to work with when I decided the machine was thoroughly unsatisfactory and had to return it.They took it from me assembled, with the box in shambles for a full refund. I thank them for that.
If you want a rower and want a good deal on one, don't think you're going to get it from this contraption. As the title states, it costs half of what the low end model Concept 2 costs, but I wouldn't pay $50 for it.

So far so good, this product is easy to assemble and works great, a little pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Worth it
It's not a $2500 rower by any means but for what you pay for it is very well built and works good in my small apartment!!

lackx features
the rower comes with no directions for proper use or how to increase exercise.. some parts were defective and will take up to 10 days for replacement.. i called manufacture and hold times are very long and expect to be disconnected while waiting.. it is confortable to use, but assembly should be where use is expected.. not easily moved for one person.

Generally Good Product
Assembly instructions were good and item was not difficult to assemble.
Provides a good complement to my 4 times/week aerobic workout, as I was previously just using a stationary bike. I now do 30 minutes on rower and 30 minutes on stationary bike, in addition to a weightlifting workout twice a week. Provides a very good rowing workout.
Only complaint thus far is that I do not like the design of the foot rest supports. They tend to move around sometimes and I need to stop the workout for a few seconds to reset the foot rest supports. They should fix this design issue.

Convenient, Effective and Fun
We did a lot of research and eventually bought this product sight unseen because no store in our area had one on the floor. The Stamina ATS Air Rower 1405C met our criteria, and Dick?s Sporting Goods had the best price, a shipping discount and speedy delivery. We have now had the rower for about 6 weeks and have been very pleased with it.
I gave it four stars instead of 5 because of the following. The foot straps with buckles are inconvenient to use. I would have preferred something more modern such as latches that can be snapped together and released. The unit is heavier and less convenient to move around than the way it looks in the instruction video.
The assembly instructions that came with the product showed the seat placed backwards. Assembly requires each end of the rail to be lifted off the ground. Placing the unit across two straight back chairs made it easier to work on it.
One the good side, this product is very simple to use, it?s sturdy and it doesn?t require very much space or any electricity to operate. The front wheel can be folded back over the rail when not in use, saving about two feet of space. I like the ?air? style because being able to see and hear the wheel move and control the pace makes you feel that you are making progress. And there is the additional benefit that it blows back a light breeze. I like this type of exercise because it works the whole body, it is low impact and not necessarily exhausting. My husband and I use the Air Rower almost daily and we are very happy with it.

Very Happy with the Rower!
We have had the rower for about 1 month now and my husband and I use the rower 2 or more times a week. We got it to get a full body workout and for exercise during the winter months. The only negativite thing I can share is we are having a difficult time getting the milage to work.

Very Happy with my Air Ower
I use the air rower for exercise at home. Very happy with the cardio exercise from it, as well as working muscles in the arms, legs, and stomach areas. The fan provides resistance; if you want more, just row faster! Meanwhile, the fan keeps you cooled! I'm extremely happy with the service I received at Dick's Sporting Goods in Gresham, OR., with my recent purchase. Employees were incredibly friendly, helpful, and breath-takingly handsome besides!! The couldn't-be-better customer service beckons me to go back again.
