Caldwell E-Max Low-Profile Electronic Headphones
Good ear protection
They reduce the sound of the gunfire but still give you the ability to hear someone talking to you. Great purchase, would highly recommend going to buy nice to be able to talk and still have all the loud noises blocked out

very nice for the price
These are great for the price. I picked them up for a little over $30. They are comfortable to wear all day. There is a light hissing noise, but was not very noticeable unless it was quiet and I didn't find it irritating. Makes it nice to be able to hear very easily with them on, and still have the noise cancelling when shooting at the range. You can still hear the shots but they get muffled enough to never be an issue. I have only worn them to the range once, but I had them on for over 3 hours, and I am very pleased with this purchase, I picked up a second pair even.

Works as described
The headphones allows you to hear ambient noise/conversation but protects against any sudden change in sound. Suggest using a foam protector with these if you want to really protect an ear but not required for most applications.
Bought two pairs, both worked without any issues, no problem with quality

worth what you pay for it
It is entry level, low cost electronic hearing protection. these devices are intended to both magnify ambient sound AND nulify loud potentially destructive noise impluses like gun shots. They can only be as good as the occlusive fit around the ears. These were not very tight fitting. They were cheaply constructed and did not look like they would last with the kind of use that I wanted them for. They had a very annoying habit of shutting down or pausing after every gun shot and then would start to function to transmit background sound after maybe 10-15 seconds. I would reccommend these for beginners who shoot infrequently and want to take this technology for a spin. Think about it. Your hearing is irreplaceable. Saving $75 -$100 in the short term is not worth the loss of your hearing. If you are a serious shooter, cough up the extra money and do it right. There are certain things that you just do not compromise upon.
I returned them and ordered an industrial strength unit the same day. It is a pity that Dicks does not sell any of the upscale models. I would have liked to been able to compare models at the store side by side. Do not waste you money or your health cheaping out on protective gear.

I was skeptical at first due to the low price, but they work great and are comfortable. Great alternative to the traditional ear plugs.

Does the job well
Great for normal hearing for conversation; only blocks the gun shots.

This was our first time buying headphones that we could use at the gun range. We were really unsure of what to buy when a customer got to talking to us and recommended these. They help reduce the sound of the gunfire but give you the ability to hear someone talking to you. Great purchase, would highly recommend.

Works as advertised.
It works. The instructions say the headphones may pick up interference from cellular phones. It sure does in my case. In all fairness, I don't have to shout or take my ears off at the range.
