Rated 2 out of 5 by Good mid/late fall boot. NOT cold winter While hiking 45 min into my treestand, the boots were fine. No leaks, and fairly warm..but after the first day, I decided to use foot-warmer inserts, which together with nice heavy socks, worked fairly well for the remaining 2 days. But after 1 1/2 hours of no movement, my toes got cold...3 days in a row. (My feet were not sweating, so the cold was NOT due to sweat freezing (temps were between 0-25 degrees all 3 days)) Also, the top part of the foot between the laces and toe, fits flat and collects snow like a shelf. No leaks yet, but I'm not so confident. All these factors lead me to the conclusion that this boot would be GREAT for mid-late fall where temps are like 30-50 degrees. Disappointed that I bought it for a winter boot though..will need something else for the rest of muzzle-loader season/winter bow. December 16, 2013

Rated 1 out of 5 by NOT HAPPY I purchased these boots for hunting 2 years ago and they were great the first year. the second season the ankle area started to leak and I noticed the lower section was coming apart from the upper at the stitching. they look like new but leak terrible. I had a few pair of the bear claws in the past and the soles came right off the boot. very disappointing!!!!!!! December 15, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great boot, warm and waterproof I was originally looking at another 1200gr boot from Cabelas but the reviews indicated that people were experienced cold feet, so I opted for the Rocky boot. Pros: I used this boot on a recent week-long hunting trip mainly for mountaineering skiing (two-strap bindings for standard boots) so my feet mostly above the snow. Worked great for that, but I also hiked many miles in 4-6 inches of snow over several days which submerged them into the snow well above my ankles. My feet and especially my toes stayed comfortably warm and dry. It appears the soles are also well insulated because, when I wore other shoes in camp, the cold quickly penetrated the soles. I changed to the Rocky's and was comfortable soon after. Cons: I noted that my socks were damp when I removed the boots after a full day of wear. I presume the reason is the boots are waterproof and don't release sweat. I hung them overnight and they were dry by morning. I suppose Gore-Tex construction would eliminate that issue, but it would also likely double the price of the boot. These are great winter boots and I have no regrets with this purchase.
