Rated 3.5 out of 5 by 48 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good but worth the money? I got this line before a fishing trip in the Boundary Waters. When I first used it I was overcasting my targets. This is because I am used to heavy braided line which doesn't cast as far as mono. I was impressed by both the smoothness, and distance of casts, and smooth return. I am noticing some light fraying on the line, but it still holds well. Overall I would say the feel and toughness of this line is right in between mono and braided. I will definately use this line in the future, and hope they start making heavier weights, and different colors. July 10, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not what i had hoped for... The line twisted quite a bit for me, and it left a white residue in the guides of my rod July 9, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good stuff! While it is pricy, I find the nanofil fishing line to be a good product. It is a specialty fishing line though, so it should not be used by someone who is new to fishing. I go fishing 2-3 times a week, and it is most useful in murky water or with a long flourocarbon leader. It does require you to use a double palomar knot, with a wet line while cinching the knot down. Examples of this knot can be found on Berkley's website, and I recommend using a swivel to tie into, then a leader of a different (cheaper) line on which to tie your lure. To break it down to pros and cons pros long lasting (no need to restring on a frequent basis) no knots and birds nests very long casting smooth and quiet easy to tie knots because of low memory does not absorb water lightweight and thin cons easy to see underwater, hence the leader or murky water usage expensive special knots and setup (you want to backfill your spool with monofilament) slippery May 7, 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Great casting line. For spinning reels, this is a great casting line, sensitive and won't stretch BUT easily gets brittle after a couple fishing trips (took 2 trips). Once that happens the line breaks easily. Also the price is a little over the top since the line quality doesn't last long and you're only getting 150 yards. June 4, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great New Line I used the 4# test line for jigging and casting soft plastics for panfish. This is a very sensitive and easy casting superbraid line. Be careful casting when using split shot or other weights as it is very easy to tangle due to the bolo effect. Because it is so limp and thin, knots are very difficult to untangle, so make sure you also have sharp scissors for when you need to retie. Wish it came in other less visible to the fish colors. Until then, I use a 3 to 4 foot flourocarbon leader. October 17, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by 50/50 I really liked the fact that this line is a no stretch non braid. I also really liked the "no memory" aspect of it, which only gave me one tangle up that was my fault instead of the line's. The only thing that I wasn't happy with, was the durability. I had thought that this was going to be just as heavy duty as a braided line, but that wasn't the case. I love throwing jigs and slow rolling stuff in rocky cover, and almost everytime I got hung up, after three or four jerks on the rod the line severed without putting much pressure on it. Also it was difficult to tie a good knot, with how slick it was. Aside from a couple of issues, I will say I had more instant hook sets than I have ever before... July 4, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by A good product but can be improved. The product performs as advetised. It casts a mile and virtually without any friction on the guides. It also doesn't tangle the whole time I was using it. The only drawback that I noticed is it does fray easily and not resistant to abrasion. I have to re-tie every now and then to ensure that the line does't break especially when I notice fraying in some sections. I think it is best to use in open and snag free environment. Not good to use in high vegetation areas. I am planning to buy another spool but this time higher than 4 lb test. May 21, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by fishes like any other braid It's a little expensive and it doesn't seem any more advanced (from a practical use standpoint) than typical braid. Cast about the same, but it is slicker, so it holds knots worse than usual with braid. Forced me to learn some knew knots though. I guess that's good? I do like the color, easy to see. I am tipping it with flourocarbon leader though, It would be off putting to the fish to tie direct to your bait. I will probably go back to spiderwire stealth yellow for half the price. Rated 5 out of 5 by Will buy again I have Nanofil on 2 reels now and have had very good luck with it. I have not had any twist or tangles at all and this is the longest casting line I have ever used. April 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent castability This product is easy to spool on your reel. It also is very smooth casting and allows for distance casting. April 7, 2012
