Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid Rod I purchased the 7'0 model of this rod which stamps a 40-80Ib line rating. I paired it with a Penn Conflict 5000 model spinning real. I loaded the combo with 50Ib Power Pro braid, and followed it with 30Ib Seagar Blue fluorocarbon leader. I currently use the rod for snapper and grouper, but plan to test this setup with bigger fish later. To date I have had no issues with this rod. The weight is a great substitute coming from all the 6'6 and older beefy rods. The sensitivity is right up there with several of the bass rods that are currently on the market. More specifically, you can feel everything with this beast. I had a little concern with the action/flex/thickness when I first purchased the rod. However, all those concerns have been put to bed. I'm able to pull up those snapper and grouper before they can wrap me around structure below. Get yourself a nice real and decent retrieve speed - you will be fine. Couple things to note: 1. I have heard of the W&M tips breaking on "these rods", but I have not experienced this yet, as well as all the reviews I read were not people who actually experienced the rod break themselves, just word of mouth. Also, it has occurred to me that there might be a generalization occurring with this rod and the smaller inshore rod models by W&M. Then again, maybe I was lucky and picked up a solid blank with no issues. If you aren't sure, spend the extra $30 and get the in store warranty or be sure to register the vendor warranty. This should eliminate uncertainties. 2. This rod can be as an inshore rod. Get yourself a smaller reel and those reds/snook should present you NO issue what so ever. I would ask one thing from anyone posting replies regarding this rod. Unless you have experienced a break with this rod yourself, please don't post negative feedback or lower scores about it. Here say is a killer, and so far does not seem warranted with this rod. Hope this feedback helps. If any of what I communicated above changes, I will be sure to follow up. Now get out there and do some fishing September 12, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by Undecided I bought this rod for the aluminum reel seat, and bc it looked cool. The following day an associate in the store tried to steered me away from it saying the rot tips are known for breaking. I have place a Van Staal 250 on it so we will see. Going to give it a chance and put it to the test... July 5, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Team Ram-ROD! This is an excellent product. I absolutely love it. It is lightweight but still can handle a good amount of weight to bring in a monster fish. Before I purchased this, Captain Blair Wiggins attended the DSG by my house. I went and he demonstrated to another customer the amount of weight that this rod can handle. He had the customer grab the end where the reel attaches and then Blair proceeded to grab the other end of the rod and put a massive amount of weight on it. The rod bent but did not break. Excellent product. I will buy it again for sure. April 13, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME ROD! This rod is perfect, paired up with Quantum reel and 30lb. Power Pro! May 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Flats Blue fishing rod I will never buy any other fishing rod. This is my second one. they are well worth the price. November 18, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Fishing Rod!!! I ordered the product online, because my Dick's doesn't carry any of the Blair Wiggins products for some reason. Probably because they have nothing for saltwater fishing. You would think they could at least put a little saltwater nook in the store. Anyway, the rod arrived very quickly and very well packed. The rod appeared to be very well made, but I still needed to test it out. After going out and catching 7 Red Snapper all over 36" and a 6' Black Tip Shark, I will have to give the rod my full approval. It stood up to all of that abuse without a bit of hesitation. It really is a very well made product, but Blair wouldn't promote it if it wasn't!!! -PB October 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by one of the best rods on the market incredible backbone for fighting big fish, Iam using 80lb braided line and they work together great. August 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Finally got the Rod I've always wanted I have been waiting for somebody to make a rod with enough drag produced by the rod itself but with a soft enough tip to throw live baits to 200 lb tarpon. Retiring my 30 lb rod. Matched the 7'6" rod with the Sabalos 7000 reel, spooled with 375 yards of 50 lb Power Pro. Reel has 25 lb of drag, this combo is great on everything from grouper in 200' of water; really manhadles them out of their rocky lair, to AJ's and tarpon, to sailfish as big as they get. it says 3/8-2 oz but will throw a 3 oz popper with no strain. This is my new tuna rig up to 150 lbs. I used it once and went and bought a second the next day. Great parabolic bend all the way through the rod. Loaded up great with a 1 1/4 oz DOA Swimming Mullet and cast 30 yards. With live Pinfish, I could feel every twitch of thier tails behind a 1 1/2 oz egg sinker. Great knocker rig rod. I only wish I had bought one for cobia season. Next spring - COBIA JIGS! November 18, 2011
