Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Line Great line, I have it spooled on a spinning reel, it is slick and casts very well. However, I would recommend wearing a golf glove when casting as the line does have a tendency to cut one's finger. September 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Line... High Price This is a very smooth line and really quiet. However the price lines for these types of line has skyrocketed in the last 10 years. I was paying $12 to $15 for 300yds and since it has become very popular, these braided types of line have gone through the roof. Although I am complaining about the price, I do realize that the life of these types of line greatly surpasses that of the mono lines out there, so I am willing to fork over the money at a premium to have long lasting products. I highly recommend this product to anyone who fishes. Whether you are using hard baits or soft, in all depths, you with have longer smoother casts with the ability to fit much stronger line on your spools. August 17, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not Sure I've been a Power Pro user for years, but have not tried the Super 8 Slick. I immediately noticed a better feel & less friction when spooling up. First thing I did was flip some flooded timber. Sensitivity was very good. I don't worry about getting hung up with braid, because worst case I straighten the hook & get my bait back. Not this time. I was pitching about 15 feet away & when I broke off & had over 5 feet of line hanging from the rod tip, so it was not a knot failure. I was surprised, but chalked it up to a nick I didn't notice. I retied & about 5 minutes later the same thing happened, this time around some submerged rock. This braid was not cheap, but I took it off & tossed it. Back to regular Power Pro for me. Rated 5 out of 5 by As Advertised This line is everything I've come to expect from PowerPro. It is strong and smooth. It allows the angler a much better sense of the bite and the fight. March 26, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Performs well If you have never used braided line before, you will have a learning curve. Knots used on monofilament line won't hold. Use something like the uni knot as shown in the enclosed booklet and you will be fine. It also does not cut cleanly with tools used to cut monofilament line. It will shred. I bought the Boomerang Snip to cut the line as it makes a clean cut every time. It does require you to wrap the spool with electrician's or masking tape when you are tying to the spool to keep from slipping around the spool. Once on the spool it performs smoothly. Caught a 6 pound Northern the first trip without a hitch. Seems to cast further without snagging. July 31, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome stuff Nothing beats Power Pro braid. Best braid on the market July 29, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by its decent I have 10 pound slick 8 on a light pole I use for bass fishing in cover. It works ok. I have problems with wind knots from time to time and topwater poppers are kind of a pain because this line doesnt have hardy any memory, it doesnt lay back on the reel right when reeling in slack. I think the green color could be darker or they need to find away to keep the color from fading or wearing off. It cast well after the wind knot fact. My knots hold up well too (Palomar). Im not sure if the heavier line is better but im not impressed with the 10 pound. July 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Matches up with regular power pro in strength Great line very strong only downfall is it frays if your using it on jigs in structure where the original is tougher line. Very smooth casting outcasts regular power pro no wind knots. Same strength too June 25, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Thought it would be better. Purchased 30lb green recently. It cast farther than regular power pro which was what I needed from shore, but the wind knots are terrible. June 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great!! I have this product on every reel I own and I love it ... Great fight with stripers and blues June 17, 2014
