Rated 4.5 out of 5 by 43 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by additional 10-15 yards? Not for me. I have played golf for the last two years previously using my fathers old model z Blades. they hit great but were definitely not beginners clubs. I then went and hit my friends top flight irons and liked them as a game improvement clue. I eventually went and bought the adams clubs and really enjoy them. I was able to hit more consistently but noticed that the adams clubs didn't make me hit fly any farther but the exact opposite. I consistently hit the ball about 20 yards shorter than the top flights. know as inexperienced as I am maybe the top flights hit them farther than they should?seems how I could hit the 9 iron about 170 yards. There are times though that I would have just mustarded up the extra money and got the callaway x-hots, which feel way more forgiving and impressive, but all in all the adams clubs are worth the money for beginner clubs. Rated 5 out of 5 by AWESOME CLUBS...Just DON'T buy them online! I can't say enough good things about the performance of the set of these clubs I ultimately ended up with, but it was a bit of a journey. Ordered them online during a sale Dick's was having. Clubs arrived on-time, but when I opened the box, I was dumbfounded and highly disappointed. Every club in the set, with the exception of perhaps 2 had obviously been extensively demo'd, or used for several rounds. They were scratched to pieces on the soles of every iron, and the hybrids had dings all over them. I KNEW they were used, because every new set has each individual club in a plastic head sleeve, then a plastic bag rubber-banded over that. These came bare in a box - wrapped in newspaper! Luckily, I took these clubs to my local store (I say local - but it's over 30 miles away) and the Pro-Shop staff were more than helpful. They were as shocked as me to see that these clubs were shipped to me in that condition. The staff extensively apologized for my bad experience, and even UPGRADED my replacement clubs to the 2014 version of the same set at NO CHARGE! Final Word: Dick's online experience was a nightmare, but my local associates were awesome! July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Worth the money I purchased these irons from the Ft.Myers Fl store and living in the south Fl area I play golf year round and the clubs I was using were 18 years old. The pro staff at this store spent way more time with me than they should have to make sure these clubs would be a good fit for me. Awesome guys, Chris and Mike the PGA pro staff. Now to the clubs, happy and pleased is an understatement. Even missed hits are still good and in play. I use steele shafts and it took a little getting used to with the graphite shafts in the 4-6 irons. 7-gw are steele shafts and are great. Distance is much improved by as much as 15 yards or more. Adams out did themselves with these irons. July 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good clubs for the price I had been looking at these clubs for several months and finally took advantage of a sale from Dick's Sporting Good and bought them in June of 2014. I had not played a round of golf since last August due to time constraints but finally played my first round with these clubs in July. I was a bit rusty to say the least but the clubs felt good and I noticed that my distance was better than with my old clubs. My last hole was a par three, 152 yards. I took my new 7 iron and hit a beautiful high soft shot that looked great in flight, it hit about 4 feet just past the flag and then backspin took it back toward the cup and then,,,,, you guessed it! A hole in one! My first on ever. It may not have been the new clubs but then it just might have been! Either way I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend these clubs to anyone looking for more distance and forgiveness. July 15, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love product very forgiving irons Only had a chance to play with clubs once but could tell big difference in distance June 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Clubs have reset my age Over the past few years as I have moved into my sixth decade I found I was loosing 10 to 15 yards on my irons which were over $1K two years ago. I finally gave into the fact I would have to hit a 6 or a 5 instead of my usual 7. Then I stumbled upon these clubs at Dick's at Easton in Columbus. I figured for $300 they were worth a try. I am so glad I did. I am back to hitting a 7 iron from 150 to 160. The Hybrid 4,5, and 6 now give me the ability to hit greens in regulation instead of playing/hoping for bogey golf. The sales personnel were very accommodating. June 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Adams Golf Idea A120S Irons/Hybrid Overall the product is very good. My 12 year old son is coming out of youth clubs and moving into men's clubs. This club is a middle of the road club and good to transition into for a youth. The club's not only look nice, they perform well, and are very forgiving. The only down fall is I found these clubs cheaper at other retail stores and online. However, my family is very loyal to Dick's Sporting Goods and their Golf Pro was spot on when fitting my son. His vast knowledge, the selection, and customer service is the best in the industry. My son is a lefty- Although Dick's had a very small selection of clubs to test for lefty's they had more than most! April 22, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Adams a12OS Iron Set First off I am a weekend warrior golfer who has not played in quite some time and I play left handed. I went out a couple weekends in a row prior to purchasing the Adams and shot 118 both times. I had been needing a new set of irons badly and while searching I saw the Adams hybrid iron set. Had good reviews, considered a game improvement set, etc. I also saw a set of Taylormade Burner 2.0 Irons on sale. I went down to the local Dicks to try them both out. I was very impressed with both sets. In the test room I was wacking an 8 iron Burner around the 180 yard mark. But was having a hard time keeping the ball straight. I tried the Adams 8 iron and was consistantly around the 170-175 yard mark with the odd one going over 180. Nearly all of the shots were center of just off center with a slight draw. I bought the Adams because they felt better in my hands and there was more consistancy. Since purchasing them I have played 4 more rounds of golf. The first time out I shot a 108 (10 strokes less than old irons). And the most recent time out I shot a 99 (19 strokes less than old irons). Slowly getting back down to where I used to be. My scores have continued to improve and the game is becoming more fun again. The only down side to these clubs that I have noticed thus far is the qualtiy in the paing on the 4-6 hybrid. They come with head covers and I do recommend putting them back on after each use due to the paint chipping off from the other irons bouncing into them. I do recommend that you atleast give them a try. April 22, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good clubs The clubs are good, but it will take some time to get used to them. April 7, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Dick's shipped a great product fast I love these clubs. Starting golf at an older age is challenging. These clubs have the forgiveness advertised. Straighter shots are giving me greater accuracy. They swing easy and are a real game improver. I'm glad I went with the hybrids. Well made with covers for all the hybrids. The cavity backs on the wedges were what I was looking for in an R7 set a couple of years ago, at twice the price. Dick's shipped fast and I received them in record time for my location.
