Rated 5 out of 5 by Stop Your Back Pain with Back Fitness The Roman Chair is the single most piece of equipment responsible for alleviating back pain. You can do crunches to support the front of your trunk and core but if you don?t do an exercise like this to also support the back portion it can actually just put ?more pressure? on the back vertebrae! Think of it as visualizing your center core with the front supported by oak and the back by jello and you get the idea where all the weight and pressure is going to go. This chair is of ?excellent quality? for the price and is comparable to chairs costing over twice as much! It took me between 20-30 minutes to assemble with good instructions and pictures (I appreciate that) all the bolts, nuts and washers are attached to a piece of cardboard with clear plastic over them which is all numbered so it?s easy to know which bolt or nut they?re talking about and where to put it. This chair is very sturdy steel and has large rubber feet to keep it in place and very nice padding for the back of your legs and your front waist to rest against., very comfortable. You can also do sit-ups as I do on it but that?s more for the advanced user who has already built up this area. So I say its primary use is to build up that lower back for total skeletal support. You will actually feel those lower back muscles pump up when they rather quickly start to develop. I say you may notice a difference in a week or two. Back Pain Medicine vs. Roman Chair. I hope it helps you as I?ve seen it help so many that I?ve showed this exercise to. IF you don?t know how to use this piece of equipment, I recommend you type ?Roman Chair? into the search bar on You Tube as you?ll easily get the idea! Dicks didn?t have this chair in their store (brand new store) when I went to purchase it, but their friendly sales staff ordered it for me and had it shipped directly to my home. Stay Healthy! Rated 4 out of 5 by Tough to beat at this price point I use this chair for both ab and lower back work. It is easy to assemble and sturdy. I'm sure that there are better units out there, but you'll pay 2-3x or more. This is a great value. Three things prevent me from giving this 5 stars. One of the rubber feet arrived with a defect. It looks like a machining issue and a notch is cut out of it. It doesn't affect the use of the chair, so I'm not going to bother with a return. Also, it would be nice to have a plate for your feet to rest against, like you see with higher priced models. I just put mine up against a wall to accomplish the same thing. Lastly was shipping time. I guess I am used to dealing with online retailers with distribution centers closer to me; subsequently receiving orders within a few days. This order took over a week. Not at all a big deal, just used to faster delivery. At this price point, I don't think you'll find a better Roman chair without tapping into the used market. September 19, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by One of my favorite pieces This Roman chair is solid, tight and perfect for working my core. These chairs have always been one of my favorite pieces of equipment and now i have one at home. Used it as soon as I got it assembled. Cheapness plus quality is what this Roman Chair has. Rated 5 out of 5 by quality feel at a modest price This was for my home gym and I didn't want it to take too much space. I needed a Roman chair that would allow me to do back extensions and full range situps. This did the trick at an affordable price, feels solid, and the cushions are comfortable. January 17, 2015
