Rated 2 out of 5 by alright reel It would be better if it didnt cost so much and if it didnt weigh 10lbs July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ovoid reel at the right price I needed a reel for a pole used by many people visiting at our cottage. The reel I purchased works great and is a good product at the right price. June 10, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good for the young ones ! Overall it a good little reel.Smooth action and great release. May 6, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love It! I went one evening to look for a cheap fresh water reel. This one was on sale for $6.99. The next day, I went back & bought 3 more. This was a great reel & looked more expensive! November 13, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Seems reliable This reel has worked fine so far. I use it as a spare, but seems to be ok. October 23, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by fishing reel Seems to be your basic reel. Let the grandkids use it and it was not a smooth as I would have liked but OK. June 18, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great Reel for the Kids These are great little reels for the kids! They are easy to cast and retrieve and perfect for smaller hands. Only disappointment is the covering over the thumb button has cracked after only one use. I have three of the same reel and the same thing happened on all three of them. May 28, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by good buy I bought this reel to replace a Zebco. Great reel for the money. October 22, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Returned after one use I've owned several closed faced reals before with out many problems. Mostly for the kids to use. I bought this because it looked like a reasonabily well designed real. The first cast the line tangled hopelessly inside the real. Lucky I had spare reals with me. I suspect the line was cheap and wound to tight. Maybe very old. If I were to rewind it with a new line it may have worked fine. I chose to return it after the trip. Dicks took it back without any problem. October 17, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Good reel, poor durability Loved the reel, selective anti-reverse & bait click, and as an ultralight caster with 6# line it out casted the Zebco 11 and Pflueger Trion with 4# line. Used it very effectively for baitfish & panfish, and for casting small plugs for larger panfish. Also hooked and landed a 15" smallmouth and 26" northern pike with this reel - fun. However, on fifth trip with this reel, the plastic hinge pin on the button broke on a cast, and after looking inside there are many plastic parts that may not last long. Wish it was more durable. Casts well, reels well, drag is acceptable, but button broke under my thumb pressure. I'll buy another and try to be more gentle, but if it breaks I'm done. Hopefully next one will be as good. Shakespeare: I would pay $20 more for this reel if it had some more durability. September 16, 2012
