Jugs PS-50 Perfect Strike Pitching Machine 4.2 5 30 30
Great machine Little leery when taken it out of box with the small wheel. Set up and started with one person. Light weight, easy to use. Great for the age group intended. May 4, 2013
suprised Not one to write reviews, but I have to say that this product is solid. I am an assistant coach for coach pitch league for 7-8 year olds. My head coach was out of town for the week and I am a terrible pitcher. Not to mention our kids were weak at bat. Luckily our fields are equipped with outlets. I had just previously bought and returned a red plastic pitching machine from another manufacturer that lacked accuracy so bad it actually hit my own kids several times so they didn't even want to use it. I was pretty skeptical, but hoping that this unit being more heavy duty would work. And after our first practice of 15 boys getting 25 pitches a piece the machine worked great. The only thing to watch out for is using balls with inconsistent size. If you are like me, you may not know that baseballs from different manufactures are not consistent in size. So a couple of boys had to take cover when a we used a couple of stray balls, but if we stayed with the same bucket than the pitches were always perfect strikes. April 9, 2013
Disappointed Bought the pitching machine. Also bought a few buckets of dicks baseballs and softballs and was not told I needed specific balls (high quality leather or rubber) to use with the pitching machine. It tore the cover of all the balls in the dicks buckets and had to spend $200 more to get right balls. Bought pitching machine in store but they had to order it for me and ship it. Bought balls same time. March 31, 2013
Five games on it's first day I am a borard member of a local youth baseball league and we were in a pinch a couple of weeks ago. We couldn't get our non electric catapult type machine to work and we had a machine pitch jamboree the next day. I picked up the PS-50 and at first when we were trying it out, we were getting some balls. We then followed jugs directions and sanded the tire a bit with the sandpaper they provided and we got 5 games worth of nothing but strikes. We use the RIF 5 balls for our games and couldn't be happier with the accuracy. We will be getting a couple of more for the league soon. March 6, 2013
A must have for the price! I purchased this machine for my kids to get an early start on the season during the winter months. I've used it in doors and out. We used all types of balls they all work, you just have to re adjust the pitch location. I've had it about a month and its been great. Tennis balls indoors!! For those that can't afford the cages it works perfect.. March 5, 2013
decent machine for price I've had the PS50 for about 6 months. It throws the sting-free baseballs very accurate. However, I cannot get it to throw leather baseballs accurate. I also had an issue with a blown fuse, but customer support at JUGS was exceptional -- they had a new control board my house in a couple of days -- no hassles whatsoever. The machine is very good for the price, especially if you prefer throwing the sting-free balls. February 28, 2013
Perfect I coach a 8U girls softball team and bought this for our practices. It works great - consistent pitches. The girls love hitting off the machine! February 20, 2013
Kids Love It I coach a Little League team and my boys have really improved their hitting after using the machine this fall. Very portable and accurate. This machine looks to be built to last a long time. Extremely pleased with purchase. December 1, 2012
Best Buy Bought one for my hitting instruction business. Ideal for 12U boys and girls. BB chute missing so called Jugs and got one in 3 days n/c. Not sure why recent posters unhappy. Easy to carry and set up. Not a toy since it throws real balls so kids shouldn't use alone anyway. Very accurate and durable (metal, not plastic). Great product for the money. November 25, 2012
Blue piece of junk Seems like a lot of these reveiews are misleading. I agree with the few people who also had bad experiences. Bought this machine for my kids in the backyard. Thought it would be a durable and well built machine for the price. After the first few pitches the wheel barely shot the balls out anymore. I pumped it up and tried it again and after about 20 pitches, same result. Called customer service at jugs and they made me go through a 30 minute protocol just to see if I could get a new wheel. After hearing I'd have to pay for it, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. Not only that but my kids had a heckuva time trying to turn it on when I wasn't home. For the amount of money I paid, I walked away with two discouraged kids and a very disappointed bank account. Had to return it. October 16, 2012
