Rated 1 out of 5 by Pete4335677 Garbage I have a bachelors degree in English and I don't have the words to explain how much of a piece of trash this thing is. Doesn't open, didn't close, tangled string mess. DO NOT BUY THIS July 8, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by SteveD Works well, within its limitations. Everything people said bad about this product is true. I took mine to the Pacifica public fishing pier where it is a 25 foot drop to the water with heavy waves and it was totally useless. Other people were catching crabs using crab snares which they cast out with a heavy surf rod and reel and getting maybe one or two crabs an hour, most of course too small to legally keep. I then tried it in the calmer waters of the San Francisco Bay off of a couple of different piers and the results were a lot different. By lowering it slowly and carefully it would come up properly 80-90% of the time. But here's the thing: most of the time I caught at least one crab and that's raising it every 15 to 20 minutes. So in 6 hours I caught 7 or 8 keeper rock crabs. Far better than the snares. BTW I wired a double layer of hardware cloth to the bottom to hold the bait. (Left over anchovies or fish heads.) Rated 1 out of 5 by ak4774 Does not work. Do not buy. Total waste of money. The strings that pull it closed are made of poor material and they get caught on the metal loop every time. I just bought this and am already throwing it away. Does not function. Piece of trash. March 7, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by SadConsumer Poor quality- poor performance If I could give 0 stars I would. Breaks apart extremely easily and is a waste of money. The pyramid shape could be nice, but not on this product. The sides don't close properly and it came strung with plain cotton string. I picked one up and the string broke. I had to restring mine with fishing line. Poor quality! December 16, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by smithr322907 Cheaply Made Overall this product was cheaply made. Came apart after 2 uses. September 2, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Loukaslou Made well but did not work well The traps were made I quality material but everytime you pulled them up they would not completely close an you would lose any crabs in it. The lines kept getting caught in the metal bar with the circle in it which would cause it to jamb and the lines would eventually wear out and snap. I had to replace them all and restring all 3 traps I bought. Eagle needs to do better R and D before sending out to the public. August 26, 2014
