Great tent!! If your looking for a large tent this one should be it. It's extremely spacious and it's a easy set up compared to others. I have had this model for one year now and I'm glad I purchased it. August 15, 2013
easy setup First time setup was easy. My wife and I did it in about 15 min. It was windy and the tent held up good. The only concern we have is the zipper quality. We'll see. Also, the floor seems thin for the rough shell ground in Florida. December 24, 2012
2 rips, does not do well in rain/wind I purchased this tent six months ago and have used it five times. On the third use, the pocket that you slide the poles into to put the tent up ripped. After the fifth use, there is a tear next to one of the doors and the zipper on one door is broken--no, the tent was not staked too tight causing tension. I am very disappointed with this tent. Last time we camped, it rained for a total of 15 hours--nothing was touching the tent walls and the rain fly was on, yet we had standing water in our tent. In high winds, the tents walls and outside poles will bend in (while staked down). I had a Coleman that I used for over ten years, without one issue. So much for "doing my reserach" before purchasing--I will never purchase a Eureka tent, again! October 22, 2012
A Good Tent I like the Eureaka! brand and have used their Timberlines for years. This tent is of similarly good quality. I set it up in my house the first time in about 15 minutes. Outdoors in the dark with my son the first time it took about 15 minutes. The poles are fairly solid and the tent is roomy. I like being able to stand up in a tent (I'm 6'). I tested it at home with two adults and five children (5 - 14 years old) and found it quite comfortable. With care the tent rolls / folds up to its original size. The mesh roof allows a view of the stars at night before the fly is attached. The only negative I've noticed is the guy line tensioners are difficult to get to stick. October 16, 2012
Love this tent! My husband and I thought we were done with camping, but now the kids are asking us to go, so we needed to update our equipment. After reading many reviews we purchased this tent (it was on sale too!). We love it! There are only 2 of us using it, but we love the roominess of it and the ease of setting it up. October 16, 2012
Excellent tent Would highly recommend this tent, it has quality constuction.Set up time was 15 min with 2 people. It is very roomy. We had a queen size air mattress, lots of gear(clothing & stuff), and we could even put 2 camping chairs in it! It has 2 doors & lots of windows. September 13, 2012
First time campers Initially the ease of putting up a tent was extremely important to my husband. We bought 2 Coleman tents and brought them home, put them up and measured the quality and ease of putting up the tent. Clearly the instant tents are a breeze to put up but, but the quality was lacking. We did more research and decided that the Eureka! Cooper Canyon 8 person tent was our next purchase. We bought it, brought it home, set it up in less than 10 mins (without stakeing it down.) The Eureka! was definitely much better than the other tents that we purchased and had returned. The size of the tent was also important to us and the Eureka! tent we purchased met every criteria that we had. We are car to campground so the weight wasn't a factor, but if we were having to carry the tent, it is on the heavy side. We are looking forward to our inaugural camping event at the end of August. Also, Dick's was one of the few stores that carries the larger, better quality tents (and they price match and allow for competitors coupons!) August 6, 2012
Why did we wait so long? Ease in set up and quality of fabric/stitching July 31, 2012
Great tent It withstood some high winds and heavy rain very, very well. Love the sturdy poles that it came with. Other people were talking about the stakes being poor, but I think that is where you are placing the tent that makes the difference. We were on grass and soft land which worked well. I could see if you were dealing with rocky hard ground they might not work as well. July 29, 2012
Definitely would recommend this tent Both of my sons are Boy Scouts.... our Scoutmaster recommended Eureka tents. Very glad I took his recommendation and purchased this tent. Very roomy, set up took less than 10 minutes --- would definitely recommend. July 17, 2012
