Good investment
The set of weights are a great value at today's prices. Olympic style with cutouts are easier to handle. I received an upgraded bar as they did not have the bar that came with the set of weights in stock..bonus. Again, great value for the money.

Value
The value is excellent. Most olympic weights can cost $1.25/lb but you're getting a decent bar and the 225 lbs of weights for less than the cost for buying the weights on their own.

Big Bang For Your Buck
Having just recently started heavy lifting, I was gifted a standard (and short) ten pound bar and a few plates. After having graduated to more and more weight, the short bar wasn?t doing it for me, and since all my lifts had increased past the 45 lb. point, I realized it was time to get an Oly set. After a lot of research, I found that a lot of Olympic bar/plate sets were in excess of $300, and knew I couldn?t afford that much.
This set is perfect. I don?t think I will outgrow it anytime soon (as far as 225 pounds worth of plates goes), and I know I can always get additional plates. I would recommend this set for anyone who wants the weight of an Olympic set but is on a budget. I LOVE this set! Best investment in myself, yet!
Like one of the other reviewers said, don?t forget to pick up a couple of 2.5 lb plates. I don?t know about anyone else, but 10 pound increase may be a little much for some people.

Perfect set
Great package deal but only thing is sometimes metal splinters not me but my friend I use gloves was gonna take it back but didn't feel like bringing everything back if it happens again then I will but just bar weights are fine

Good beginner bar and quality iron
The Iron is great; it is not manufactured to as tight a spec as more expensive iron, but a great buy all the same. The bar, however is junk. I bent the bar with 400lbs, though it is rated for 600. The plate stop on the collars needs to be thread locked before use. The knurling is weak and wears down fast with chalk. The bearings in the collars were not well packed in grease, so make sure you have some on hand; they need to spin freely.
Overall, great iron for the price. Beginners will be served well by this set.

Excellent product, I bought three sets of these, you can't beat it for the price except I have two extra bars that I don't need but oh well

Excellent Weight Set
The picture of this weight set is not the style as what was in stock at the Dick's in Milford, CT. But they were still very good. The only thing that I would recommend is to get 2 2-1/2 lb weights so that you can increase your weights by 5 lb increments.

Great product!!
I bought this weight set back in February and it is an extremely reliable piece of equipment. I have NEVER experienced the bar bending or any other odd flaw like these other people have had. I use this equipment every day and it is proven a very wise purchase. O use it for bench press, curls, deadlifts and squats and it is perfect. Please buy because it is a great value.

Bar Bends
Bought this for my son. After a couple weeks use I noticed the bar was starting to bend. He does not even put the full set of weights on it.
