Rated 5 out of 5 by hoytshooter one AWESOME reel
I bought the 6930 for bass and trout fishing and this reel is incredible! very smooth and quiet. the first time out with it I caught and nice 2-3 lb bass and the reel handled it very nicely. I also just recently bought the 6940 but haven't got to use it yet but I'm sure it will be just as nice and reliable as the 6930.

The President while not being the Pflueger top of the line model gives solid performance at an affordable price point. There are many reels that cost three times as much that will not out perform this reel. My wife purchased this one as a replacement for one that I just wore out over several seasons of almost daily use on saltwater gamefish such as Snook, Redfish, and Gator Trout.

PFLUEGER PRESIDENT 6930 SPINNING REEL
This is my third Pflueger President reel. All three are smooth as glass and although I haven't used the 6930 yet, the other two have performed flawlessly. My first was the 6740 at 12.3 oz was too big and heavy for me to enjoy bass fishing with it. The 6920 at 5.9 oz is my favorite. I have it filled with 10 lb Spiderwire Stealth braid. I use the 6920 on my ultra light, light, and med light rods just by adjusting the drag amount to match the rod and in each case the entire rod and reel setup weighs less than 10 oz. The med light rod has a max line rating of 10 lbs so setting the drag at 30% of the line wt is only 3 lbs and even less on the lighter weight rods. I have an Okuma Stinson spinning reel in which braided line will get caught between the line roller and the line roller housing; this does not happen with the Pflugers
I bought the 6930 at 8.3 oz to fish for bass in heavy cover. It is filled with a full 125 yd spool of 20 lb Spiderwire and is paired with a med heavy Cabela Fish Eagle 50, 8-20 lb rod weighing approx 4 ½ oz the total package weighing less than 13 oz. Since the 6930 can do anything the 6740 can do with the fish I am after, I will only use the 6740 for backup even though it is an excellent reel and has been very dependable. For heavy fish, I use casting reels.

I got this president 3 years ago ,and fished steelhead & salmon many times in that three years ,and finely had a problem with the drag this past year, you only catch so many big fish on a reel and don't care how much you pay for them.i have payed from $50 to $200 for reels . BYE FAR THE BEST FOR THE PRICE ..... but I you put black tape over the holes to keep dirt out of reel & water so it would not freeze up in the cold !

I have this reel in three sizes and use it for crappie and bass for crank baits as well as bobber fish! And use it for my catfish in the 40 series on ugly stik rods , I haul them on 4 wheeler and my boat they take the abuse very well . I wish Pflueger would make this reel again in the 50 size like the 3750 , well worth the money ! easy to open up and grease and clean !

Best budget reel on the market. This will be remembered as a classic. Spend the extra $20 bucks and buy it over the less expensive guys. It feels like a $150 reel.
