Rated 5 out of 5áby Nice rod So far, have enjoyed this rod. Nice feel with firm backbone to heave the heavier stuff. Really a good priced for the quality. April 19, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Shimano Stellus Casting Rod Great rod for the money, good action & sensativity with good backbone, I paired it with Daiwa Coastal Arid & 30lb Power Pro. I fish it in both fresh & saltwater & would recommend this rod as a great low cost option. April 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Excellent Rod for the price. I bought this rod last week to go with an Okuma Stratus V bait cast reel. This rod is great for the price. It gives good casts on Braided line, it's durable,It's very light, and it is super sensitive in my opinon. I felt every bump on the rocks, using a 1/4oz jig head. It's light weight, so you can cast after cast if you want to. For 50 dollars, you get a really good jig and worm rod. My buddy has the same set up as mine, and his had lasted him for a year now (that's what made me decide to get one). If you want something within a good price range for a good quality rod, I recommend this if you want it for worming and jigging. February 29, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby The sensativity of this rod is amazing! Not only was this product exactly what was advertised but it demonstrated extreme sensativity and the backbone was also tested to the extreme! A Northern Musky gave it a true game test and it passed with flying colors. In the lake I fished, one of these monsters is always a possibilty but I never expected one on a jig! it handled the situation with no problem, I just leaned on it hard! November 10, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Love it. Paired this rod up with my Abu Garcia Revo STX and 20lb power pro super 8 slick line and it is sweet. The sensitivity is awesome, while I purchased it primarily for bass I have also used it for some flounder fishing and I can feel every little hit and nibble without having to touch the line itself. I fish a lot of ponds and lakes so I tend to get into the thick stuff and after snapping 2 vendetta rods and a berkley I decided to try something new, so far this rod has handled everything I have encountered with no issues, a lot more backbone than what I have seen in some of my other rods. So far the Shimano Sellus has exceeded my expectations. October 24, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great Rod I asked one of the workers in the outdoor section which is the best rod for jig and flipping for a low price and he recommended this one. Awesome rod for pulling bass out of heavy cover and has great feel when you jig. Best rod in this relative price range. August 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Bullysmallmouth Bought this to cast flukes, and it works breat. Nice tip action for casting and sensitive to pickup of fluke. Great bass rod for pullin small mouth out of their beds and over the weeds. Bought it to replace a competitors rod that I thought was state of the art, and that one broke on the 10th bass opening morning. May 28, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Great rod for great price Very hardy rod and its my all time favorite casting rod. This was a replacement rod because i had a ugly stick for 15 years. Nothing wrong with the ugly stick but it was time for something new. So i Bought this rod because of the new style look and also for its price. I was in love with it after using it to catch striped bass with my buddies.I like how sensitive it felt and still have the back bone to haul fish in. I know its not the expensive kind but at lest i won't cry when these fish steals or breaks my rod. May 13, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5áby Shimano Sellus 7'2" Worm/Jig - very satisfied. First 7-ft 2-in casting rod I have owned. Mostly a fly rod, trout stream sort of guy. Have bass fished occasionally for years with jigs and crank bait on 5'6" and 6' rods paired with older but good quality Shimano Bantam bait casters , but I relatively new to the large variety of soft baits and various techniques associated with them. Decided to try this, paired with a Lews Speed spool & 20# test Dynema braided line. Very good sensitivity. Easy accurate casting. Very productive with swim baits, Texas & Whacky rigged worms. A morning and afternoon in a couple of local ponds landed 5 nice large mouth bass in the 2-3# range (one maybe more like 4-5#) and a number of smaller ones. Plenty of power and backbone for landing large bass. Allso ordered the Sellus 6'8" Drop Shot spinning rod to pair with an Okuma 2.5 spinning reel. This rod feels nice (I suspect you could mount a fly fishing reel on it and use it as a creek rod for nymphs and light weigh spinners pretty easily. I haven't fished with it yet, though. Plan to use fluorocarbon line on the spinner/drop shot rig, though as is sinks faster. May experiment with fluorocarbon leaders on the braided line, too. Should be fun. Suspect these two combinations will suffice for any bass fishing I will be doing. With current rebate on the Lew's speed spool, both rigs come in at the $100-$120 price point and are very good quality for the price, IMO. July 3, 2014
