Rated 4 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by It works well I works well and the GPS is great. I person I bought if from was clueless though. She told me that it had the capability of downloading the information onto the computer, which it does not. This was the spicific watch I wanted but she kept tring to sell me things that were "cute" and "hot". Not very professional. But overall I do love the watch August 6, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great GPS watch for the price I use it when running races and training for up coming races. It's lightweight. Even my daughter has one. A lot of great features. Easy to set up. June 12, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great watch for the price! I love this watch! Unfortunately for us, we couldn't spend an arm and a leg on a GPS watch for me, so when I saw this watch, I knew I had to have it. The GPS function is slow at times to come on, but I usually turn it on while getting ready to head out and by the time my shoes are laced up it's ready to go. I love how it has my splits so when I am running, I know if I need to pick up my pace or slow down. Love this watch and would recommend it to anyone! March 3, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Watch I feel that the person who gave this watch a bad review either got a defective watch or simply didn't understand how the watch worked. Here is why: I to live in the Pacific Northwest, Seattle to be exact. The last two days I ran, both days were overcast, the first day I was worried, but tested it out at Cougar Mountain, which has pretty significant tree cover and never had less than two bars of coverage the whole run. It was also very accurate. The next day, not only was it overcast, but it was cooler and snowing when I was searching for signal. I searched for it in my bathroom, which has no exterior walls or windows, and was actually able to recieve signal. I could understand how they could have thought it would think he was indoor when it was overcast. When you click the GPS button to track GPS signal, it turns it on immediately, but also takes you to a menu. The menu says GPS on the top and Indoor on the bottom. This doesn't change. If the indoor is not blinking, then the GPS is on. If you press the start or stop button the indoor setting will start flashing, and after 5 seconds of flashing, it will turn the GPS function off. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product I use the product nearly everyday. Once through the learning curve as to how to operate the watch it preformed as indicated. I would purchase this product again from Dick's if need be as the complete transation was smooth and delivery was as indicated when the purchase was completed. February 19, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Cannot recommend this watch at any price I bought this watch as a less-expensive alternative to the Garmin 110, and I expected some lack of functionality as a result, due to the price. Unfortunately, it was a lot more than just a lack of certain features. This watch takes forever to sync the GPS with the Satellites. Once synced, it is incredibly accurate, which is nice, but I am not terribly fast, and I can run a half mile, to a mile, before it syncs up, depending on the weather. If the sky is not clear, there's a good chance the watch will decide I am indoors, and never sync at all. (Very bad, since I live in the PacNW). This is basic, core functionality that MUST work, and frankly, it does not work. There are no firmware updates, and never will be, as the watch doesn't have the data pins on the USB cable. It can charge off USB only. It looks like it could receive two addition lines on the cable to enable data, but I think they are just fabricating the case for the 2.0 version of the watch coming soon, rather than having two designs. So unlike the Garmin, which gets updates that have improved it's ability to lock on the satellites, this watch is what it is, and cannot be improved. Other issues: Obnoxiously huge buttons that are easy to bump with your wrist when flexing your hand back at all. If you do not 'stop' the workout and 'save' it prior to entering a building or other structure that blocks the GPS, you cannot save it at all. If you try to go back to the 'Run' screen without a GPS lock, to then hit stop, you can't. It just sits there searching for the satellites, and you can't stop it without exiting the Run screen. The interface isn't actually all that simple. It's simplified compared to the Garmin, with fewer features, but somehow less intuitive to navigate. Somehow I turned on splits last run, and had no idea how to stop them/configure it mid-run. Must have bumped the obnoxiously huge button. Beeps on the hour every hour, only way to disable that stops ALL beeps, for all features. Customer support. I have contacted SoleusRunning twice via e-mail through their web form. It's been 4 business days. I have heard nothing. There is no phone number. The watch 'wanders'. If I set it to show my time, distance, and pace, after about 20 minutes or so, it starts cycling through the other screens under 'Run', which is not what I want. I want it on PACE, all the time, there is no setting to stop it from doing that. I don't want to to cycle through calories, or anything else, just stay where I put it. Can't. Not an option. To Recap; Pros: Cheap, extremely accurate GPS once the GPS is up and running. Cons: Cheap in bad ways, bad user interface, slow/weak signal reception on the GPS startup, silly options that cannot be set at all, like turning off the hourly chime. If you want a bare bones GPS watch for not much money, this will do, if you don't care about ANYTHING else, and are willing to start the watch looking for the GPS outside, 10-15 minutes before you actually start running. I honestly cannot recommend this watch to anyone, and if SoleusRunning will respond to me at some point, I will be attempting to return it to them. I called Dick's Sporting Goods and they will not accept a return on it, which makes sense to me, and I don't fault Dick's for this. Soleus needs to take responsibility for this product.
