Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by WORTH EVERY PENNY Extremely tough, smooth, powerful, good looking. Epic reel and Im planning to buy more October 5, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by makes you look like a pro at first i was a little skeptical on the vbs, having gotten used to a mag brake, this brake system is amazingly simple. on the recomendation of a friend, i grabbed this reel, and i like it so much, i will probably get 2-3 more. a great value, im not a pro by any streach of the immagination, but i do like having fun. back lashes are minimal, and probably not the reel's fault. having learned on an entry level bait caster, this will make you look like a pro. Rated 3 out of 5 by Honest Opinion Recently bought this reel since I heard about good things that come from shimano curado reels. This is not the case for this model and the price. The reel itself looks pretty attractive but doesn't perform as good as other reels in this price range. I think that the reel handles and thr actual reel feels pretty comfortable and light weight in my hand. This is not by far a bad reel I just believe for the money you can purchase a better performing reel. Shimamo has stepped down their quality on this years curado. Spend it on something else not worth buying. Hopefully they will produce next year ! August 16, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best reel I ever fished with. Now own 3 casting control is excellent and smooth.Brake system works great and I have had a great deal of success catching bass. October 20, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by I would buy this product again and again Great right out of the box. Versatile for almost any type of presentation. July 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by I like I now have two reel outstanding drag it work for people that are just starting to use bait casting reels, I love it, easy to operate April 24, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Love this company, love this reel! So I bought the 2011 model (Curado 201E7) and fell in love with it. So in a continuing effort to ever expand my fishing gear collection, I had to spring for the 2012 model (Curado 201G6). And yet again I'm in love. I use this reel in combination with a 7', Medium power, Fast Action St. Croix Triumph casting rod. I use 12lb. Trilene XL. Here in central New Jersey fishing has started to pick up over the past couple weeks. We've had some unseasonably warm weather which in my opinion has turning the fishing right on. On this reel I've successfully landing a 27" Northern Pike, and multiple 4lb. Largemouth. and 24"+ chain pickerel. This reel reels smooth as a dream, casts far and smooth as well. Very minimal "birds nests" but like all baitcasters you have to have your settings dialed in just right. The drag has been strong enough for all my freshwater applications, and the VBS (variable break system) has proven useful and reliable in controlling cast distance and velocity. If I had to make one complaint, I would say there is a slight wobble in lure retrieval, as if the reeling mechanism is slightly off balance, but you get used to it and adjust your reeling style within 20 casts. All around a great product, I love it, and if you appreciate the great craftsmanship Shimano has become known for you should too. April 9, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Best reel I've ever used! I've been buying shimano reels for about 20 years and I've still got one of those that still works and I use. As far as I'm concerned, there's no better reel for tne money. Definitely a good buy! April 3, 2012
