Product Information:

Repel and kill those pesky ticks, mosquitoes, chiggers, mites and more than 55 other kinds of insects the next time you venture into the outdoors. The Sawyer « Permethrin Clothing Insect Repellent is for use on your clothing, tents and other gear. A single application lasts through 6 washings.
Permethrin is odorless when dry. During the drying process it tightly bonds with the fibers of the treated garment. It will not stain or damage clothing, fabrics, plastics, finished surfaces or any of your outdoor gear. Permethrin clothing treatments have been determined to have "spatial repellency" against mosquitoes. Mosquitoes will swarm around you, but not land on your treated clothing and bite. Use by itself or with skin-applied repellents to build the ultimate protective barrier. Permethrin is a contact insecticide but non-toxic to humans.

Rated 5 out of 5áby This product works! I have been treating my outdoor clothing for ticks since having RMSF 20+ years ago. This particular package offers the most treatment for the least amount of money; I can treat three sets of hunting clothes with one pump bottle (hat, socks, pants, shirt) although the package claims four sets. I hang my clothes on an outdoor clothesline on a still day and spray the product on, paying particular attention to cuffs, waistband, and the neckband areas. Let them dry for 3-4 hours. I have found dead ticks on my socks, in my waist band, and dead red-bugs all over my pants - even had one dead spider sitting on my hat bill while turkey hunting one spring. I have found that the clothing will still effectively kill ticks after three washings and three weeks - it just takes a little longer (five minutes as compared to 1 minute when freshly treated). Rated 5 out of 5áby Bug off... Definitely keeps the bugs under control. A must have if you are in TICK country. Follow the directions (Do NOT spray on skin), spray your clothes, boots, etc. the night before you go into the woods, let them dry before wearing. Seems to last through several washings (as claimed). No residual smell (important for hunters). October 17, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5áby Awesome After a tick bite in spring and getting Lyme, I have tried this product with awesome results. Being in the woods often and previously having ticks on my clothing and me, I have not had one tick since I started using this product. I also went bear hunting in Maine. I had no issues with mosquito's while on stand and as advertised, no odor which I saw bear, and we all know how sensitive their smelling is. Another advantage is how long the product works after it is put on your clothing. VERY HIGHLY RECCOMENDED PRODUCT!!!! September 15, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5áby Sawyer Permethrin Insect Repellant I don't use this on clothing, although I know that some do. It is my opinion that it should not be in contact with the skin, which if sprayed on clothing and even allowed to dry, it can produce skin irritation especially in places that are more restrictive (waistband, etc.). I use it as a barrier along a side door to keep insects from getting into the house. When they crawl across it they die. I have used it up in the Peruvian rainforest/jungle to keep insects out of the sleeping areas in the same way. It really works, but people need to use it carefully like any other insecticide. Rated 5 out of 5áby Keeps the ticks off when hunting! In my tick infested area I won't go in the woods unless my clothes are treated with this. September 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5áby No bugs no ticks Great product. Used it in africa and in deep woods if Culpepper and had no ticks when we got home September 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby No Bite This is the best product I've encountered that actually keeps me tick free during the year. It does what it claims. September 9, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby tick prevention I have a lot of ticks this year in my yard but I haven't found a single one on me since I sprayed my garden clothes. Easy to spray and leaves no odor or sticky feel. Would definitely recommend this product. July 8, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5áby No more bugs I have heard about this product from some of my fellow hunters, so I decided to give it a try. Opening day of archery season was a blast. No mosquitoes even came near, cept for one lone scout who did not hang around long. After 3 washes, it is still going strong. Did not even need the Thermocell this season. October 16, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5áby We have been using Sawyer Permethrin for the past two years. We live in the most highly infected county in the United States for lyme disease tick born illness. While I have not opened these bottles purchased from Dicks, it is because we still have many feet of snow on the ground. When it melts all of our gardening clothing will be treated with this product. We have had good success for the past two years with it and would highly recommend it to anyone; especially where we live in Rockingham County, NH. We always wear hats, long sleeves, muck boots and long pants all spring, summer and fall seasons. All of these are treated with Sawyer's Permethrin. Be sure to read the instructions carefully. The garments can be washed up to six times before it is depleted. There are specific instructions on how to wash. We do several sets of clothes at the start of tick season. I hang clothes outdoors on a line to treat. I wear eye protection and a respirator and completely cover my skin. They don't say this is needed but I think if it kills ticks on contact I don't want to inhale it or put it directly on my skin. March 22, 2015
