bike review Good mountain bike, priced right and performs well April 23, 2013
Alright Quality On the first day riding the bike, the chain seemed to pop from the front sprocket too easily. After this happened about three times, the chain put too much pressure on the plastic sprocket cover and broke it off easily. Not a good first day. Road nicely though. April 14, 2013
Great bike Amazing best bike I ever had use it every day no probs here April 12, 2013
SHIFTER Have had this bike one month. The Twist Shifter is junk. Does not stay in gear and changes gear on it's own, not a smooth shifter. Might be returning it to store. March 28, 2013
Just what I wanted! I have owned this bike for two weeks now. I ride 5-12 miles every day. Nice, smooth ride, rugged, gets me up and down the trail. On the negative, the front shocks could be a little tighter. Seems like I bouce a bit when I'm pedalling hard. October 22, 2012
dont buy Bought the bike for my boyfriend. When we got it put together front rim bent and they didn't even tell us at the store when they assembled it. Called the web and they sent another bike. Which was ok. Third time out on a ride handle bars broke and gears whit shifting had to take back to store again. They said will keep for a few days and look at. Did you have a warenty with? Didn't purchase so they said it will cost to fix. Will be calling the web site back yet again to resolve that they will fix for free or bikewill be returned. September 11, 2012
you get what you pay for. The bike holds out for a season, maybe 2 at best ... but if you ride daily and plan on using it more than once a month while it sits in your garage. then dont ge tthis bike. I bought one last fall. after a month it showed wear ... and about 2-3 months in it was falling apart. Ive since replaced the back wheel completely, the brakes on the front have broken. and the gears slip and and broke to the point of only offering 2-3 working gears. The bike sucks if you want a good bike. If you ride on a sunny saturday through the park once a week then you'll be fine September 10, 2012
terrible bike for the money terrible components, front suspension locks up, and the rear derailer is junk. the chain slips and bounces between gears. September 9, 2012
Good Bike Bought this bike for my teenage son's birthday. It is the first bike with variable speeds that he has had. He absolutely loves it! He has only had it about 2 to 3 weeks, but so far, it is everything he has wanted! Good solid bike, good suspension, nice appearance. Hoping our opinion stays this positive for a long time to come! Might want to spend a bit more We bought this bike and the warranty. The brakes were a bit cheap and had to adjusted quite a bit. Also the gears were not as smooth shifting as some other better brands. DBX is Dick's Sproting Goods own brand and it did look like a great bike but my son had the above issues. The bike componenets were a step below in quality from the other namebrand bikes. My son actually crashed once when the shifter on the handle bars may not have been lined up quite right and caused the pedals to slip around. My son had to have his wrist x-rayed. He lost a lot of confidence in the bike at that point and I had to convince him to ride it again to see if it was corrected after another tune-up. Ultimately I found one of the better brands on sale and returned the DBX bike for a Nishiki which my son loves. It cost a little more on sale. June 24, 2012
