Rated 4 out of 5 by Here's how to get in on the bat You have to use liquid soap or Vaseline (I tried liquid soap first then switched to Vaseline and figured out how to get the choke on while using Vaseline so that's how I know Vaseline works). Both the actual bat knob and the inside of the rubber choke needs it. Anyway, put a towel down on a concrete floor and lay your bat down on top of the towel. Put the rubber choke flat on the towel under the bat knob and step on the bat handle and the bat's knob will start to go inti the rubber choke. Now here's where the trick comes in---use a flat screw driver and ply it in between the bottom of the bat knob and the rubber choke and then lift the rubber choke over the rest of the bat knob and it will pop right in place. I wasted time just using the liquid soap and trying to pop it on with just my hands (and then using my feet without the screwdriver). This will not work. Plying with the screwdriver worked on the first try! Good luck- you can do it. These things work great. They allow all the benefits of choking up on a bat yet the feel of the knob as if you weren't choking the bat. April 21, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Just gotta read Johnnybat's review It was frustrating to install until I read Johnnybat's review. (I considered slicing it and taping it around the handle.) The only thing that Johnnybat wasn't crystal clear about is you actually pop it over the knob from above while standing on the bat. Literally 5 seconds when done right. The hardest part is cleaning off the vasoline. Use mild hand soap and warm water and you might as well clean the rest of the handle as well while you're at it. Thanks Johnnybat! February 18, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by GARBAGE ! ! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT ! IT DOES NOT GET OVER THE BAT KNOB. IT GIVES "NO" INSTALATION INSTRUCTION. I RIPPED TWO TRYING TO INSTALL. THIS BAT CHOKE IS MADE "BY" DICK'S UNDER THE ADIDAS LICENSE SO I WILL CONTACT ADIDAS. I AM GOING BACK TO DICKS AND ASK A MANAGER TO INSTALL ONE, SO STAY TUNED. . . . March 19, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very difficult to install Ring was very difficult to install , but by placing it up right on the floor laying the bat flat on the ring & stepping on the bat while using 2 flat head screwdrivers I was able to install it , I feel there is no need for any type of lubricant as that would not be helpful & would create a mess , once ring was installed , it served its purpose . Rated 5 out of 5 by My son loves it I must admit, I was a little reluctant to purchase at first because of the reviews on hard or impossible to put on bat. It actually took me less than a minute to put on my son's Mako composite big barrel bat. All I did was take it in driveway and put it down. Took bat and pushed it down at an angle, than rotated the bat until it popped on. Keep your weight on bat. December 16, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by All Choked Up! My son was using a 31in. bat but his coach thought it was a little long for him. The weight was fine so I bought this and it worked well. It even quickened his swing. June 6, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Product I purchsed this item for my 10 year old. It fit over a 2013 Easton S1 bat knob. It "could" be challenging to get on, but I used the shafts of two standard (straight) screw drivers simultaneously and it was on in 30 seconds. I then used athletic tape to secure the choke so there was no twisting or turning. It works well. Makes my son choke the bat to where he can swing it most effectively. July 30, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by How in the world do you get this stupid thing on the bat? We bought it. Took it to the men who play. They said boil it and it will stretch. I tried. Could not get it to stretch onto the bat. It broke. There were no instructions, he's too young to have learned how to use it and I've never played. February 8, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by worst product ever purchased i am not one to write reviews but after attempting to install the adidas bat choke i felt it was time.i know it is only a [$] product but this item is probably the worst product i have ever seen place in the stream of commerce.i tried every imaginable way to get the choke over the handle including heating, using soap,wd40, a vice.i even resorted to cutting a long stem funnel per a web post that i found.to date i still cant get it on the bat.sorry to sound so negative but i figured since i wasted so much of my time this post might save yours February 10, 2012
