Rated 1 out of 5 by sweetboysmom How in the world do you get this stupid thing on the bat?
We bought it. Took it to the men who play. They said boil it and it will stretch. I tried. Could not get it to stretch onto the bat. It broke. There were no instructions, he's too young to have learned how to use it and I've never played.

Could not get the bat choke over the existing knob. Unfortunately it will have to be returned. Suggest bringing the bat to the store so you know right away if the bat choke will fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bill Great recommendation
I bought a new bat for my son and the choke was recommended to me by a store employee. My son loves the feel of it and it seems very durable. It was really hard to get over the knob of the bat, but once on, it stays in place and has a very good feel.

I had tried all conceivable ways of attempting to lube this up to install it. None of it worked. HOWEVER I came to realize that lubing it up was NOT the solution. I dried off the bat and rubber choke removing all lubricant. On a cement floor I placed the choke and using the head of the bat I forced the choke on the bat handle head. I had done this before while it was lubed up and then it would just slip off at this point, however while dry the choke stayed at the bat handle head with the choke almost over it and it stayed there! That is key. I then flipped the bat over so the bat head was on the floor and then used both hands to force the choke over the bat handle head.

Try as I might, there was just no way to get this over the end of my bat. Nothing on the packaging to tell me it does not fit all, very disappointing.

Great for the trasition to a heavy bat. Problem is that the rubber is so stiff it is very hard to get over the barrel of the bat.

Bought for my son, we should use the bat for an addition yr. Easier than it looks. It works! My loves it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by KCJoe Does not work as advertised
It must be cut to get it over the actual knob of the bat but it then works ok. It doesn't stay in place. It must be adjusted for each at-bat.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Bat Choke Bat Choke didn't fit my son's bat
My husband purchased this so that it would help him with his handling of the bat. Unfortunately the bat choke didn't even go over the bottom of the bat. My husband tried to stretch it just to over the bottom but it wouldn't stretch out enough so we had to return it. Quality was good and I'm sure it would've been a great asset to him hitting but I suggest measuring the dimension of the bottom of the bat so that you wouldn't have the same problem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Youth bat Good once you get it on
I love the concept of this product especially for youth baseball. The product did not come with instructions to get on the handle knob of the bat so I boiled the rubber knob, microwaved the rubber know, then boiled again and the applied dish soap to the end of the bat and after all that I was able to get it on. My son really likes the comfort of the knob and appreciates the absorption of the sting that the knob provides. Seven year olds definitely do not like the sting :). Overall, this product accomplished what it was purchased for which was to provide a little bit of choke on the bat and reduce sting on a really good bat. Very pleased.
