Garmin Forerunner 210 GPS Watch with HRM 3.7 5 11 11
Regrettable Purchase i run around 100 miles a month and 10 races a year. i had been using Runkeepr on my iphone which i like, however i decided to buy a Garmin due to seeing all the other elite runners using one. after using the Garmin 210 for a month now I regret buying it for 3 reasons. #1. it was $250 out of my pocket. #2 it takes one to two minutes for it to find satellites, which delays my runs. #3 it's very difficult to upload new runs to your computer, the connection is lost several times due to the poor/odd connection design on the back of the watch. Best present Great! Love it, Light weight, seems pretty accurate. April 28, 2013
Works great Quickly picksup heart rate and does not get lost through the workout like some others I have tried. Picks up satilite quickly and is very accurate. Charge seems to hold as advertised. January 23, 2013
Design flaw with the charging system!!! I purchased the Garmin Forerunner 210 approximately 6 months ago, as I was beginning my training for my first marathon. As a GPS watch, the Garmin 210 works great. It was slow to pick up satellites at times, but once it did you were off and running. The GPS was highly accurate when compared to Google maps. Unfortunately, the battery charging system for the Forerunner serious is seriously flawed. It depends on setting four small prongs onto contacts located on the back side of the watch face. I only charged the watch a handful of times in the past 6 months and had difficulty every time. Often I would set the watch up correctly, verify that it was charging and come back to find it was completely dead; even if the watch was only at 1/3 charge when placed on the charging device. The last time, I attempted to charge it over an entire weekend. It did not charge , in fact, it drained the battery again. In fact, the device would not charge at all, or even turn on. A quick google search shows that this is a very common problem with the forerunner series. I attempted to contact Garmin, but there customer service left me feeling less than impressed and I just gave up and threw the watch in the garbage. i do not recommend this product to anyone! Good Solid Product Let me start by saying that I'm a reformed couch potato. I needed to measure miles in a more reliable way when than using the odometer on the car since I am training for a ten-mile run. In short I needed a measure that did not require signposts on some trail or a general sense of distance. This product delivers. Be aware that you can run the exact same route on three different days with different distance covered. These are insignificant distances (all within a tenth of a mile) but it does make a difference in how the product tallies up your per/mile speed. As to the heart rate monitor, this wasn't why I bought the product so have not tested it out. I also suspect that satisfaction is based on where one lives based on GPS reliability but I would definitely recommend this product. September 23, 2012
Does a great job!! So I can!! This my first GPS unit. After looking at many reviews about the 210(runners world,rc rainmaker) just to mention a couple, I decided on the 210.I'm using the footpod when I'm on the treadmill to record my runs. This a great feature to have so you can record your run indoors when the weather is not so nice outside. The garmin connect that you use to view and track your workouts online is a very useful. So far so good. I like the 210 very much. September 5, 2012
love it! I am training for my 3rd half-marathon & joined a group to trainfor a pr. A few other runners recommended this watch. I was hesitant because i dont like to be loaded w accessories while running. I am so happy i decided to get this watch. My running improvrd nearly over night! September 4, 2012
Terrible Product, Buyer Beware!!! I have had my Garmin Forerunner for approximately 6 months. This is a terrible product. I would say it is worth about 25 dollars. First of all, my watch had problem locating satellites from day one. It would take from 5-20 minutes before it would. Sometimes on sunny days it would not even locate satellites after 30 minutes!!!! The HR monitor did seem to work ok. It is a nightmare to recharge this thing. As another person stated the prongs must be aligned perfectly to get this thing to work. Now, it is completely dead and will not charge at all and will not power on at all. I have a very expensive piece of plastic. Garmin customer service is worse than getting help at the local gas station. Sadly, the store I purchased it from will not take it back either. I will never consider any Garmin products in the future. March 16, 2012
A Runners delight Had a problem figuring out the menus at first, but after talking to the help line, who were very helpful, it's a piece of cake to use. Very useful for runners who like to pace and like to keep track of time and distance. March 15, 2012
Love it!! Found to be accurate and easy to use. The HR strap is more comfy than my other February 29, 2012
