Pinnacle Perfecta DHC5 Casting Rods 5 5 3 3
Light/Sensitive/Balanced/Powerful I have the 7' 3" MH casting rod. It is truely a pleasure to fish with. For perspective, I keep about 15 casting rods rigged & have rods from St Croix, Dobyns, Powell, Carrot Stix, Daiwa, BPS, & others... I am the kind that likes certain rods from different companies - whatever is best for the application. No great loyalty to one brand. I wouldn't switch out all my go-to rods for Pinnacles per se, but the 7' 3" MH hits the nail on the head for my pitchin' stick. It actually measures 7' 2.25", weighs 4.3 oz, & is as perfectly balanced as I could want. It fishes comparable to my Heavy action rods, or a really strong MH. The line & lure ratings are accurate & reflect more of a heavy action rod. My Dobyns Savvy 7' 3" H weighs 5.4 oz & isn't as sensitive. I use that one for small swimbaits. It casts farther than the Pinnacle, so gets the nod for chucking skinny dippers & such. Like I say, right rod per application, I'm only swayed by what gets the job done the best. My Pinnacle is for close quarters pitching & is super sensitive to the lightest bites. Paired with a Lew's Tourny reel & 17 lb fluoro it weighs 12 oz. Works for me! October 6, 2014
What a rod! Guys, I'm 60 years old and a tournament fisherman. I have owned a lot of rods. These rods are the lightest, most sensitive, toughest, best quality rods I have ever owned. I now have 6. The 7 foot med casting weighs 3.28 oz. Yes I weighed it. Just buy one and you will get rid of all your other rods and convert to Pennacal Perfectas. November 29, 2012
A surprise for sure ... After reading reviews for the rod and finally getting my hands on it ... wow !!! They were dead on. Light, sensitive and strong. I was more than happy that I chose this rod over others. I thought maybe the handle would be a problem but truth be known, it helps me put the bait more accurately into spots when pitching. I will definitely by another. July 24, 2012
