Rated 5 out of 5 by Sounds really good, was surprised. Makes nice realistic gobble sound. Beats a shaker type call. April 17, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Will replace your Shaker! I got this as a gift for my birthday and i put this to the test this morning w/some good success. It does take some getting use to, if you haven't ever run a duck call, it will take some time to master. However if you can run a "feeder" chatter on a duck call, you will have no issues figuring this out. April 13, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by Might Call A Goose Bought this one discounted at Dicks after the 2014 season. I'm glad I didn't pay full price. It's lousy. I've hunted turkeys for over 40 years and I can use just about every call made. But I've never been able to make a decent gobble except with a shaker gobbler call or by shaking the right-pitched box call. I bought this call because I wanted something that would require more interaction with the call than simply shaking something. Sadly, this is not the answer. This call sounds nothing like the online instructional videos. It is difficult to blow and control the sound quality. It tends to go silent on the lower tonal range of the call. On the upper range, it tends to blast or quack. It sounds more like a goose than a turkey. It has a lot of squeak and squawk. Thinking that the rubber diaphragm was too tight, I tried to adjust it so that it would give more authentic turkey sounds. When I disassembled the call (which is harder to accomplish than I assumed), I discovered that its construction was quite solid. I think this call could last for many years of use (if you can use it), performing at least as long as the diaphragm would hold up. However, it appears that the diaphragm is secured by tape wrapped around the circumference of the inset tube. I started to remove the tape, only to leave behind pieces of the tape and a thick sticky residue. Plus, I couldn't see another means of securing the diaphragm. Instead of dealing with the mess, I reapplied the tape and didn't continue with any adjustment to the call. The printed instructions indicate that, when the diaphragm deteriorates, it can be replaced. Flextone sells the replacements. But from what I experienced, I'm not confident that this can be accomplished. After reassembling the call, it worked a little better, probably because disassembly had slightly loosened the diaphragm. But it is still something that I wouldn't try on a real gobbler. Final analysis: Don't waste your money. Learn to gobble another way. But if you are curious like I was and you think you might get it to work, then have at it. It might be your huckleberry. But in that case, I would suggest that you try buying it after the season when the price might be discounted. I'm not an avid goose hunter, but I really think that this might work to call in a honker. April 21, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not What it Promises The manufacturer and YouTube claims ease of use and great quality sound. Not easy to use and sounds like a goose call. April 14, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by poor sound quality I did not see that this product was of good quality or effectiveness March 4, 2015
Rated 3 out of 5 by difficult I bought this over summertime to prepare for turkey season... tried it out in a local park and other areas I have seen turkey in. Takes a very long time to learn how use properly and get results. But eventually it'll get you your toms October 28, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by GOOFY GOBBLER I had high hopes as I personally have trouble making this call. It is official: with this call I sound more like a novice bagpipes student than a turkey. I also bought the hen call, and managed to make a sound almost as bad. These things are in a bag with the receipt and I hope to get a refund in the near future. June 10, 2014
Rated 1 out of 5 by Horrible Call I thought this was a horrible call. It sounds like an angry sasquatch, sounds nothing like a turkey gobble. Difficult to get the cadence right for the call but once you do it still doesn't sound good. Not worth the money at all. Also the call broke the second time I took it out. Look on youtube and learn to gobble with a diaphram. May 9, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by Practice, practice, practice I love flextone game calls and the quality calls they produce. This call sounds great when the pros use it but this call is not as easy to blow as they say. Now I havent used duck calls which they say makes it much easier so who knows. But all im saying is it takes practice. March 25, 2012
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not for the beginner I was interested in the product becuse of it's size and the fact that you produce sound by blowing through it. Both are true however it is not a simple task. THe instructions are not helpful and somewhat deceiving. It was not until I viewed the Flextone "UTUBE" clip that I understood what to do. Not easy to produce a believable sound. May 28, 2012
