Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 18 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not the greatest design for rainy weather This tent is similar to an older Eureka that I used to own that had served me well but I feel this model is not as well designed. I've only used it on one trip so far so time will tell but it strikes me as the kind of car-camping tent that will basically force you to hunker down in your car if you encounter serious weather. The fly has a two pole design that seems unlikely to hold up to serious wind. And I know from experience that the tent is not that great in rain. It didn't leak terribly but there was water pooling at the front bottom of the door. The overhang is not very significant so the door had to be completely closed in even the slightest drizzle or rain would get in. In retrospect, I'd definitely opt for a tent with a vestibule as it was a mess figuring out what to do with shoes--leave them out to get wet or bring their sopping dirtiness in the tent? The tent is basically all mesh except the floor--I'm not a huge fan of these tents as we camp in colder places and I like to have actual tent with some mesh for breathability. The fly does cover all the mesh areas but it's still chilly and breezy at night. The other thing I didn't love was that the tent door is huge and can't really be kept partially open--it's a pain to unzip it to get in and out. Especially in the rain, this giant door flops water all over the place when you zip it open to let someone in or out. July 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy setup and easy take down I haven't used it while it was raining, so I don't know how it will do in the rain. But is was easy for 2 of us to set it up and take it back down. Big and roomy, lots of vents and kept me warm in the night. July 10, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to set up I used this for the first time on a very windy day and only a 6 year old to help. Once I realized to keep the supports assembled and bend them to fit, it went quickly. November 24, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by good buy in a good tent I bought this tent for me and my son to cub scout camp in. The center height is tall enough that I can stand up in it and it has enough floor area that the rest of the family could join us if they wanted to. Overall construction seems to be good as I noted no defects and it lasted through our first outing with no issues. It goes up fast. You could set it up alone but having an extra person really helps. My son really loved it and it is a vast improvement over my 30 year old 7x8 3 person dome tent that we had been using. It is a bit drafty for cool weather camping so if you use it for that, make sure you have a good sleeping bag to keep you warm. November 10, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Ya Ya, it is a nice tent! I had a nice time camping in Wisconsin with my 4 person family. We went fishing and caught 5 pounds of salmon. November 5, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by VG tent, with one minor design issue. Purchased it for a Scouting event weekend. Couldn't wait to set it up and use. Pretty impressed with the ease of set up and quality. The floor could be a little more robust and heavier. I really don't know how anyone could consider this a "5" person tent. Two adult leaders and their gear and the tent was comfortably maxed out. No big issue just be aware of that. I think all the manufacturers over rate the capacity of their tents. We were wakened by a major rainstorm in the middle of the night. The rainfly did it's job and the tent stayed dry with one minor issue. The rain dripping from the front of the rainfly deposited that water on the door and saturated it. Now opening the door and going in and out of the tent allowed that water to go into the tent. I consider this to be a design issue. The front of the rainfly - the section over the door - should be extended so that rain dripping off the rainfly falls in front of the tent, NOT on the door. Other than that, a pretty good tent and a real dollar value. September 23, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by So far so good I bought this tent just the other week. It was very easy to setup. I was concerned that the queen size mattress might not fit. To my dismay it did with some room to spear. I was able to squeeze a pretty big dog bed as well. I have only used this tent once, so not 100% sure how it will hold up, but so far so good! Rated 5 out of 5 by dry This tent was bought for scout camping trips and it is great! Perfect size for 2 or 3 people and gear with room to move. Excellent rain fly keeps you during even during heavy rains. Very happy and not bad price $136 shipped with tax. September 2, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Value Tent Easy to set up, stayed dry in the rain and easy to get in in out of. Sleeps 3 adults comfortably. Would be very cramped with 5 adults. August 18, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by One nighter Recently purchased this tent for a trip to Yellowstone. Tent arrived and I was quite happy with the ease of setup and size. Noticed that it didn't come with guy wires in the corners. Just two along the side. We slept in it the first night with no problems and went for a hike to come back and find the tent had collapsed in upon itself. The rest of the tents in the camp ground were all standing but ours had some kind of catastrophic meltdown. Other campers came to admire our brand new tent/pile of fabric and shattered fibreglass poles. Thanks to dicks for their quick response in taking it back and their apologies. Eureka on the other hand was quite non challant about the fact that their tent had been the mockery of the campground. If you need a tent for one night, and one night only. Then this one is for you.
