Rated 5 out of 5 by bobber128 Great shoes, just take your time getting into them.
I've been wearing the NB Minimus Trail shoes for a couple years now (since they first started marketing them#. Before, I was suffering from Achilles issues, knee pain, and shin splints. I switched to these #slowly building up mileage#, and have had absolutely ZERO issues since. There is some muscle soreness that you will experience when you first start wearing them #calf muscles and foot muscles, mostly), but that is because you are basically forced to run with good form, and your body accomodates the footstrikes differently.
I love these shoes, and can't wait to get another pair!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Marie54 Incredibly healing shoe with lousy durability
I am an old soldier with multiple serious orthopedic problems and I have had 4 back surgeries. I am actually not ALLOWED by the Army to run anymore because of the damage my body has sustained - running just makes it worse. But my mood is the pits without running outside. No other exercise is effective at lifting my mood. The elliptical machine is very good, but does little for my state of mind because I really hate being inside. I despise swimming.
I bought these shoes and was stunned when, during a regular exercise walk, I began running automatically, without even thinking about it. No pain until my old knee injury acted up after about 1/4 mile.
I was so impressed that I dragged my older sister into the shoe store and bought her a pair. She reported back 3 days later that she started 'automatically' running when she was out walking her dog - and, as she said (truthfully) - "I have not run this century!"
But yes, the shoes are wearing out in an awful hurry. Just have to keep my eyes open for good sales, because whereas my other sneakers last a year or more, these last a few months at best.

After having another brand shoe and running about 800miles in those, these were the replacement shoe to train for and run another 50 mile Ultra. They only lasted about 300miles of 20-30mile weeks of high tempo running. The design on the tread is light but wears down supper fast and once you are through the little rubber spots, the foam outer goes very quick, I got holes in these about 200miles into the use. The outer is very light but abrasive in the beginning and started to separate rather fast on the outer edge of the upper and tread around the pinky toes on both shoes. The light fabric made them actually split apart on one run to point I had to take them off and try and finish out the interval barefoot, which I was pretty much already doing. This is all from running in a normal fashion with not very high mileage and I'm only in 190lb bodyweight range. These shoes were just used for running and nothing else and they just fell apart very quick.

Absolute waste of money. These shoes have zero durability. The mesh in the toe box will rip from just walking in the shoes. I can't imagine how they stand up to running. Save your money and do not buy these shoes. They will only last a few weeks.

STAY AWAY!! I've purchased two pairs of these shoes and have been incredibly disappointed. They look great and feel great, but with both pairs I purchased they lasted only a few weeks of just WALKING in them before the mesh began to rip apart The first time I thought maybe they were too small(although they fit and felt great) and that was causing the matierial to rip, so i went up a 1/2 size and it made no difference. I've read plenty of other reviews online that say the exact same thing about them. Save your money and do not buy them.

I saw the other negative reviews and wanted to chime in. I have had these shoes about 3 months and absolutely love them. I usually wear socks with them, because I can't get used to wearing shoes without socks. However the shoes are very comfortable and have held up extremely well. I have worn them around town, on my bike, to the gym, disc golfing, and more- and the soles are still great with plenty of traction and no separation. I am actually considering getting a 2nd pair.
As with anything, your mileage may vary.

fist time I wore these to train with, we had a workout that included 100 situps. During the situps, as my heels were on the rubber mat in the gym, I noticed the rear of the sole delaminating(separating). I will be returning these to Dick's for a replacement, but I'm leery of these shoes now. Time will tell.

Never wore the shoes outside. Trained indoors. They ripped like a piece of paper. Do yourself a favor and avoid these shoes at all costs.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Brad Very disappointed
Very frustrated with the quality/durability of this shoe. I am on my feet all day and bought them because many in my field of work rave about the comfort of the "vibram" shoe type. I had them for less than 3 months and the fabric has already developed tears where the crease occurs when walking. It's important to point out that I have not even run in them and they've worn out this fast. Very frustrating purchase.
