would not buy this again. purchased for my teenager to play tennis, we thought these shoes would be leather upppers. i looked them over, (after teenager all ready had worn them), and they appear to be synthetic or at best the worst leather upper i have seen in a shoe.

This is my second pair of this model in about 18 months. I wore the bottoms off playing 2 to 3 times a week, 12 months a year, but I would guess that is normal.
I can't buy pair of sneakers without trying them on. In initially selecting this model Nike, I tried several different major brands, none of which were comfortable. I have a narrow foot size 8 1/2, and the medium fits well. This model has a wide toe box, good support, and enough room in the lacing to tighten the strings as the leather stretches.
Also, Dick's didn't have my size when I needed the second pair, but they ordered them while I was in the store, free shipping, arriving within 3 days.
Great service, great sneaker. I will buy another pair of these next time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by sore feet No cushion on the insoles
When I ordered the shoes, I also ordered a pair of insoles as I have found that in most shoes a good insole will improve the support and comfort. I was disappointed that the insoles in the shoe itself were not replaceable. There is not much cushion and I am afraid that the bottom of my feet will become sore. I have not used these shoes other than walking around the house. I was very happy with the cost of the shoes especially since they were on sale but am concerned about the hardness of the soles. I tried placing the insole over the built in one but it made the shoes much to tight for comfort.
I think I would be very satisfied with the shoes if I could replace the insole.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Pickleballer good value
The price is right for a shoe that fits me well. I wish the soles would last longer than 6 to 9 months but I'm playing pickleball 3 to 4 times a week on hardcourts and haven't found a court shoe with a longer lasting sole.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ElToro Great value and fit
On the search for a comfortable pair of tennis shoes with good overall support that would put a large dent in the wallet. Like the classic look and feel of this sneaker. Good grip on the court. Happy with this purchase.

Great buy for non-marking soles for tennis or squash. Good support for ankles and pivoting.

Nike's are generally quality shoes, but they come with a higher cost. The City Court VII's were more than I usually pay for a tennis shoe. My feet are narrow and it is difficult to find cheap shoes that won't cause me pain on the tennis courts. The moment I slipped these on, however, I could feel they were the right fit for me. I didn't need to walk around and see how they felt. It was the right shoe for me. I have played on hard courts for a few weeks now and there is no pain or soreness with breaking them in. They have also worn well on the abrasive courts. I picked up a second pair with a store coupon. My feet are worth the extra cost, so I will continue to choose this brand and model.
