by SVSUman Excellent Entry Level Tent
I gave this tent an "Excellent" rating because for the money, it is simply an excellent tent. It is a great entry level tent for beginning backpackers or campers who don't want to start out spending a ton of money. I bought it on sale at Dick's for $80 and used it on a two night middle of June backpacking trip in Northern Michigan with my daughter. The first night it was 40 degrees with a heavy due in the morning and the second night it rained the entire night. Both nights the tent performed without any problems or leaks which made me very happy to wake up dry and warm. Set up and take down is fast and easy too. There are lighter tents on the market, but since it is a two person tent, the weight can be easily divided between two hikers to lessen the load. The vestibule was also nice to have since we kept our boots outside so as not to bring any ticks into the tent and the boots stayed dry during the all night rain. I love this tent and plan to use it on all my future backpacking trips.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hikergirl01 Works great for my needs
I've been carrying around a backpacking tent for years that is almost 7 lbs. YIKES.
I figured for the price, I would give this tent a try.
2 people would be rather squished. I went with my 50lb dog, and I fit both of us in the tent with my backpack. Shoes & other accessories stored in the vestibule
I was able to get out this weekend and try it out. I was rather warm, and I'm a cold sleeper.
Lightweight, easy to put up / take down. Warm. You can't beat the price. I am very satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Brian35 Great Value, wish it had a couple things
It's a great lightweight tent. Super easy to set up. I'm not sure if it would be good for 90s with a chance of rain. Ventilation with the fly on is minimal and the rest of the tent is all mesh. I was fine at 40F. The vent hole was a good idea. There was some condensation but it didn't drip on me like some tents. For 2 people over 6 foot, it's gonna be tight. I was fine just me and my pack. Build quality seems quite good. Bottom liner could be thicker though

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1CanisLupus Excellent tent
Bought this tent to get a good quality backpacking tent and used it recently camping in a State Park. Haven't used it on a backpacking trip yet, but definitely super easy to setup and take down. Sturdy and high quality tent. Some reviews have said there is not enough room for two, but when backpacking you want light an sturdy and shouldn't expect tons of room.

by VAfromVA GREAT tent
I bought this tent over a year ago and have used it for about 10 weekend trips since. Most of those have been backpacking on the AT or in Shenandoah Nat. Park - having it be a mostly mesh body is great - can leave the fly off and star gaze. Being free standing is also wonderful - with the mostly mild weather I rarely even stake it and it does just fine. My boyfriend and I sleep in it w our packs at our feet - works out well (and I am 5'11"#. My friends who backpack with me have 'fancy' brands #GoLIte, Six Moons, etc.# and all paid double or triple what I did and many of them are on their 2nd this year, while I am still thrilled with my Kelty!

Rated 4 out of 5 by me Best value I've seen
This is an unusually high value product. The only reason I gave it four stars is because, at the top of the tent where the tent poles criss-cross, there is no clip/tie/strap or something like that to keep the poles center. All I had to do was tie it myself, so it is a very minor detail and the only con to the product I have noticed.
The pro's include having an option to keep the rain cover off so that it is just a bug net. I mostly backpack on the Appalachian Trail which already has shelters. However, those shelters don't have doors and, since the AT is heavily used, the shelter area has spilled food and sometimes an outhouse near it which attracts bugs. Leaving the rain cover off allows for more ventilation on hot nights and no more bug bites without having to use bug spray. The rain cover does work very well, although you may need a water repellent after a few trips. Since the base of the tent comes up about six inches, rain splatter is not a problem.
I spent $100 on the tent and was surprised that it was made from medium quality materials. It will last as long as you take care of it and having a tent base would be recommended in case of rocks, pebbles, and sticks even in a shelter.
It is light and not too bulky. I'm 5'10" at 174 Ibs with 14% body fat and I would say that two men of my size and weight distribution would be snug in the tent. If I was sharing it with a 5'6" girlfriend, it would be comfortable with some extra room. Three ten year old children could fit in it. I hope that information would help with determining the size.
It's very easy to assemble and disassemble. People shorter than me have claimed on the reviews that disassembly was difficult, however, the only part of that I could think of that could have been difficult for them was getting the poles out of the holes they go in on the corners. All you have to do is backup holding the poles for that to no longer be an issue. I don't understand how anyone could find it difficult.
For the money this tent is easily the best value purchase I have seen.Another tent of equal value would be priced between $175 and $200.
