Decent for the price
I bought a pair of these for perch fishing and they work very nice. No real saving as a combo. I'll give the rod a 4+ star. It has good sensitivity and parabolic action. I this rod should have a better reel seat, and not what is has. It's a $40 rod by itself. I'll give the reel a 3 star. There is nothing special about this real & has performed well. It's a $20 reel by itself. The CON: reel has a graphite body, this allows for flex or torsion twist when working a large fish. An Aluminum reels should be with this setup as it is marketed as a Salmon/Steelhead combo. And for that reason I will switch it out with my Penn for the salmon. For a $100 you can pair up the Penn Fierce & and a Nice IM7
